Seems like I remember this was essentially a scam. The commercial showed the family getting a betamax VCR. This was during the beta vs VHS wars and VHS won. You would have been better off to rent a VCR and the movies.

When we got cassettes I thought we should get 8 tracks and when we got VHS I thought we should get Beta -Dad knew better…..🧐😂😂🙏
