Meta just released something that could shake up how we edit videos-SAM 2, an AI model that nails object segmentation in both images and videos. If you’re into video creation, and specifically if you're someone who enjoys masking/compositing (I use 'enjoy' loosely here), then this could be huge for you. It's the accuracy, speed and ease of use that make this something to watch out for. And because SAM 2 is open-source, there's a high likelihood that we might see the model integrated into the tools we already use, like Final Cut, Resolve or Premiere. Thanks so much! Well Dehancer isn't necessarily a 'color grading plugin' but with the click of a few buttons you can definitely get a great, filmic look. I find it quite intriguing that you included a clip from Bruce Almighty at the start. I attempted to recreate that scene in my recent video. Do you happen to know how they achieved the effect of varying movement speeds within the same scene in the original film?

That's the thing though, it won't be. With just a button click, you can select you in the camera, put some text under that clip of you, and now you have you in front of a background with text behind you. And it'll be tracked really well. It should simplify things for a lot of people.

@@dylanjohndickerson Have try it in Cap Cut? I doubt it or else you would have known what u demonstrated in the video can be achieve in Cap Cut with similar speed and accuracy. Other software don't come close

you can erase but you cannot mask

Masking in video editing is a technique used to selectively hide, reveal, or apply effects to specific parts of a video by defining an area or shape, allowing for targeted adjustments or visual effects. (You can erase the mask. You can invert the mask and erase the background. You can adjust the saturation of the mask and so on and so forth.) Hopefully this helps.
