Same experience here, 22kw Zoe, Stockholm to Leiden (NL), lucky I did see your video before and did not encounter many problems other than the odd broken charger or a charger being in use by a hybrid for 3 hrs ...... I also enjoyed it more then my spouse :)

Thanks for the resumé, Jan. 🙂👍 Thankfully, I waited a few years before buying our ZE50, by which time our local supermarket had installed dispensers for 50, 22 and 7 kW. We've owned the car for 15 months now, travelled to and from Northwest Wales, as well as many journeys around this part of England, and only ever used 22 kW, a few 7kW, and some destination charging. (We could use the 50 kW, but have not needed to yet.) Electricity cost has been zero, apart from the initial charge at home, (via a cable through a window). We don't have any chance of official home charging, but only use Podpoint public recharging, and have one app for it. The app crashed recently, on the only phone we had which could use the app, so we went online and confirmed the charge that way, with no worries. I hate having to faff around with apps, dongles, etc, and use Podoint because it's so simple and pretty reliable; plug the car in, confirm the charge and walk away. We're waiting for the day when we can simply arrive at any recharger and use a credit or debit card for payment, without having to pay top prices for the facility. Fossil fuel purchases are made that way, as are most other retail transactions, so I guess that the present mishmash is a result of 'empire-building' by individual suppliers, coupled with unregulated data harvesting, and perhaps some deliberate policy by Big Oil to make EV recharging inconvenient.

I guess the charging situation has improved in the countries mentioned. However, I have recently come back from Valencia where I was surprised by the low number of EVs and EV charging points.

The improvements are not equally spread.. I'm pretty sure if you ask someone in Spain on how it was in 2015 you'd see the improvement though.. 🙂

Back then ev driving was the equivalent of hacking your way through the Amazon Jungle.

It was a lot harder than it is now.. A combination of shorter range EVs, less charging points and ease of access.. It's a lot easier these days and I wouldn't have any difficulty taking a shorter range EV pretty much anywhere in the EU..
