You do know that it can go up in flames with a runaway reaction not necessarily at the time of going through the flood but weeks later very dangerous, especially if the water is saltwater

You can drive through water without any problems depending on things like depth and duration to start with.. This was a small and not very deep flood.. I saw several cars pass through and the water was not very deep.. The car is still on the road with the original battery 6 years later so all is well.. But thank you for your concern about my safety and adding to the view count of this little, spontaneous video..

I’ve had a NRG Kick for 6 years or so, frequently charge 22kWh at home (we have 3 phase) Recently it fails when charging due to one of the phase relays sticking, when tapped with a soft mallet it comes right, not ideal! Suspect the unit has not been built strong enough to repeatedly charge at 22kWh. Spoke to NRG Kick about it and they completely ignored my comment about the relay sticking!

At some point , water will be swashing around the entry points to the battery box and no matter how well sealed the holes are , with time and heat the seals will be compromised and will let water in . at which point .....water and high voltage elecricity do not make good bed fellows and .BOOM . In fact all that stands between you and your maker is some flimsy sealant .

@@JanBartSpang a HV insulated steel plate. See the problem is batteries vent gasses and as such, there must be vents in the battery box to allow this as the gasses are combustible as well as very toxic to breathe. So when you submerge the box deep enough, water gets in through those same vents and floods the box with water (Which btw has no drain holes as the vents are on top) so your batteries sit in water once it infiltrates into the battery box. This causes the batteries to corrode and eventually cross-conduct and when this happens well, you're stuck with a smoldering pile of ash and melted parts assuming all that burned was the car and not whatever was around it as well like say oh your Garage where you were charging it.
