There is a problem with young male victimhood in this country. For some, the whole world is against them and they cannot control their emotions, lacking basic discipline to be productive or be intellectually curious about the world. Instead of looking inward to solve their problems, they project outward and blame everyone else.

I always think that anywhere we go now. I make things and was a vendor 2 wks ago at a parade downtown and I'd be lying if I said the thought wasn't in my mind I have a show sat Walmart is doing for the children's miracle network and and much as i love what I do the crowds terrify me cuz u just never know and it COULD happen to me even though I use to live like it never could. I find myself wondering while I'm out like wtf I'd do if something happened there. Leaving Walmart a few months ago someone ran over a balloon about 5 feet in front of me and I'm not even kidding when I say my knees went and my legs turned to straight jello and I just grabbed the cart and literally ducked i really thought it was happening. my fiance had to calm me tf down in the car we shouldn't have to live this esp especially considering we're in the USA! I counted 11 shots in the first salvo, and 23 in the second. First salvo was about 3 1/2 seconds long. Second was about 6 1/2 or 7 seconds long. There was a 7 second gap between salvos - enough time to pop out a mag, grab a second one and insert it and pull the charging handle to put the rifle in battery. I had to slow the video down to quarter speed just to be able to make a mark on paper with a pen for each shot and keep up with the speed of the shooting.
@donnyboi1990
@donnyboi1990 2 жыл бұрын
7.5 second reload is actually absurdly slow. Shooting that fast actually made it so less people were hit. Also I believe it was 2 full mags emptied. The video started after the shooting had already started.
@HandbrakeBiscuit
@HandbrakeBiscuit 2 жыл бұрын
@@donnyboi1990 Yes - reloading could be done a lot faster if he really had practised it. Perhaps some of the time was spent looking around and deciding on a new/different part of the crowd to target. It might come out in time if/when we find out where the various victims were during the shooting...

When I was younger, I used to go to the Michael's restaurant across the street from where this happened all the time when my mom was dating my ex stepdad who at the time, lived in Highland Park. S., at 582. “Just as the First Amendment protects modern forms of communications, and the Fourth Amendment applies to modern forms of search, the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in exist- ence at the time of the founding.”

I am an American living in in Europe and the gun laws here are so sensible. I hate seeing what is happening in the US and the rhetoric being thrown around by people who refuse to give up their big guns. As a nation the US prefers to be "free" (to do whatever they want) rather than live in relative safety under strict gun laws. Here in Europe I never worry about being shot at the supermarket, school, etc. If it does happen it is an exceedingly rare occurrence, not a daily thing like in the US..

I was reminded how important it is to stay culturally and politically aware right now. America has covered up and put a bandaid on HUGE issues, that need serious change not "oh that offended me" then "oh i don't care if this offended you" attitude. We weren't all raised under the same roof and respecting our difference only goes so far, before we have the free will to walk away. That's not an option anymore. Disrespect is being served by the system itself. Lying has become policy and normalized. Almost like saying leave the crimes to the professionals. This is just sad and repetitive. It's not the guns in this country as we had them even less regulated in previous decades where our towns were more peaceful, it's the absolute lack of care for putting the mentally ill away and giving full prosecution to criminals. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either projecting about how old they are (usually 40 years old average, boomers seem to forget that they could go into bars back then and buy a firearm straight from the glass container) and doesn't know what the real issue is here.

Sorrow & grief are too much. Is there anywhere in our world where there is a worldwide educational movement designed to equip our children with traits of joy, compassion, peace, truthfulness, trustworthiness & sincerity? We can’t continue killing on such a large scale

I understand your sympathy for these people as I do. But to say rest in heaven is not the correct thing to say. If they had trusted in Christ Jesus as their savior and Lord,then yes they r in heaven,but only if they had. Just because someone dies from someone else's evil act,is not an automatic entrance to God's presence. That is y it is so important to trust in Christ, because our next moment is not promised and if we're not ready ,we will not be in heaven.

Evil and wickedness. This makes me sick to my stomach. The America I once knew no longer exist. I remember growing up in the 80’s as a kid in a small town in the northeast and I used to attend so many of these parades and not once did I feel unsafe or could imagine something like this could ever happen. So many great and wonderful memories I has at these parades. This makes me sad because the trauma that these people have witnessed will never go away. The S.O.B who did this robbed the innocence of these poor children.

Robert doesn't want to be taken alive. I saw his KZbin video called Toy Soldier. His channel Awake and Zero/Archives have been pulled by KZbin. I hope his video Toy Soldier can be made available to news agencies along with social agencies as a tool for teaching references on what to look for in troubled individuals. Someone should have alerted someone. If you knew Robert and did nothing and you saw Toy Soldier, I'm not sure what to say. _We are our brother's keepers_ My condolences to the family members who lost a loved one on this holiday.

@@mr.t9036 It's fu*cking sad is what it is. How do you see this, and not step in? Take the kid, Robert was 19 when he uploaded Toy Solder, and bring him in. When I say bring him in, I mean talk with him, like a coach would a player having a hard time. The first sentence tells it all. The ending of the video is the way he wants to go out. Yes, there were parts of someone being shot in the heart, animated-wise. He had another on his Zero channel that showed him with a gun, animated-wise, using it. He had mumbled rap videos about his yearning for a girl. His artist name was Awake The Rapper.

America is such a wonderful country in many ways, but common sense needs to be urgently applied to the gun laws. Automatic weapons of this type should definitely not be available to the general public, such as this very young, immature man who we now know had already shown red-flagged behaviour.
