Maps are generally rectangular. What you're referring to is the playable area.

Each galaxy in NMS is 102,000ly across, and there are 255 (technically 256) of them to play in. Each galaxy contains around 6 trillion planets to explore completely. For comparison, the Milky Way is 105,000ly across. This means No Man’s Sky is around 248.6x bigger than Elite Dangerous. Idiot.

Whoever worked out the size for the EVE Online map got it very wrong. The total area is 11,126,487.6 AU² (249 sextillion km²).

Someone is making a fork of Daggerfall Unity. It allows it to load new world maps. So they made world maps for all of Tamriel, to the Daggerfall game's scale. Meaning the imperial city, will be so large that there's farmland between the city and the isle edge.

It's not. Cause Minecraft world is infinite. Yes it's 64M blocks long to each side, but minecraft uses seeds to generate worlds, when it comes to seeds there are Trilions of seeds.
