Yakuza has always been called Ryu ga Gotoku or Like a Dragon in Japan. Has nothing to do with changing to turn based combat and obviously predates the Dragon Quest obsessed character.

Podcast for 12 years! Karl also has a youtube channel where he posts occasionally but they mainly do their podcast which they post on their website, apple podcasts and so on. I discovered their podcast almost exactly a year ago and have already gone through over 200 episodes. It was fun seeing youtuber's that I have been watching for quite a while this episode! Eh I hate being that guy but I guess an "uhm actually" is in the spirit of a trivia game show. Like a Dragon is called Like a Dragon because the series was always called that in Japan. Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, literally Like a Dragon Studio. In the west it was rebranded as Yakuza up until the 7th entry, which yes featured a shift to a DQ inspired turn based RPG system rather than the series standard beat em up approach. It just happened to be a funny pun in the English release as it coincided with the studio choosing to unify the naming/brand in all regions. But the series was always called that and now will be called that going forward even in English speaking territories.

I like the idea for the new category, but in the modern world the terms remix and remake often mean the exact same thing. Jun Senoue's Beyond the Speed of... remix is a complete remake of the original song. A completely new recording and a new arrangement reusing none of the original recording. Just started the section so I hope remix will be recording s that reuse some element of the original recording. And remaster must be a new recording of the original arrangement maybe? Is guessing “they have a shared composer” correct enough for the theme round? I realized that had to be it for the last set since there was nothing I could find in common between the first two. Also Husser had some stones to submit the Balatro song seeing as that game only has one song. My answer to “favorite soundtrack in a game I don’t like” is Paper Mario: The Origami King. The music is good, I just didn’t enjoy the combat. Having to do a puzzle to line up your attacks didn’t sit well with me. I burst out LAUGHING at the metal Chocobo theme because I heard it before in Coney’s “worst video game music” bracket Btw I knew the Metroid Prime Pinball one, gotta love that buttrock I almost got the BioShock voice clip: I said Adam Ryan.
