Absolution is by far the worst Hitman game, the levels are so linear that it doesn't even count as a puzzle game anymore. You literally just hold forward half the time, rush in a straight line past enemies and that's that. There's no open map to explore, just doing the objectives in the exact order described as you advance along a line.

​@@ZeallustImmortalYes, the first hitman game didn't have much freedom, it is old and didn't age well. The fact you're comparing it to absolution speaks volumes at how bad the later is, despite being way newer. Hitman 2, Contracts and Blood money provide a lot of freedom and don't hold your hand telling you how to proceed. If you're lucky you're told where the objective is and that's that. Even reaching the objective can be difficult at times, in Absolution you literally go along the only path available. I would have had more fun playing a version made by TellTale Games since at least it would have a story that remained loyal to the previous games. And that's not a compliment.

@@ZeallustImmortalI played all Hitman games Contracts was linear, but not nearly as much as Absolution. Only a couple of levels where linear and even then the maps where so open that you actually had choices on how to tackle them. Most linear level was the final one. But for absolution the vast majority of the levels are like that. And i wouldn't mind the linearity if the game wasn't so brain dead either. It feels like Gears of Wars most of the time, but without any of the fast paced action nor your team. The most excited i was when playing absolution was when the current hallway had an enemy patrolling and wasn't just giving me his back for free.
