Imagine getting pissed at a young person for making more money than you??? Seriously, the uncle didn’t have to give a shit about the subscriber’s job to play games because not everyone can work for 90+ hours a week to make money. Ofc some people are gonna choose to do more simpler jobs because you can’t expect the same standards from everyone. Regardless of how easy or challenging the job is, you can still be a hard worker in that said job.

Ya know, something similar happened to me with my friend’s dad. I’m currently in my last few weeks of high school, with big dreams of becoming an author one day. So my friend’s dad is an electrician, and is unfortunately one of those people who think if you’re not on the brink of death every time you work, you’re not working at all. To keep this short, he said some things about my craft (writing and storytelling) that I didn’t really appreciate, think stuff like how I’ll fail in life and how when he was my age he was a junior electrician while playing hockey on the side (this is Canada by the way, eh?) and I kid you not, he called me “One of those damn hippie people.” His words, not mine. All I really remember after that is him walking off somewhere and my friend apologizing. This happened I want to say two years ago, but I could be wrong. After watching this video, I was reminded of it, so… yeah. Thanks to all that actually read this, I guess. >_

Dude that guy is just so toxic imagine just tearing into a child for being creative
@your_friendly_neighborhood74592 жыл бұрын
@@homosmexuale I know right? Fortunately, things are better and I’m currently halfway through writing my first full length novel. Me and my friend’s dad are also on better terms, as he realizes he can’t dictate how my life goes. How he didn’t see that the first time is beyond me. And the ironic thing? He volunteered to beta read my draft, AND LIKED IT. So yeah, that happened a little while ago, and whenever it’s brought up, we laugh. Hope you enjoyed my story, as it literally just came to me after watching this.

At least he realised his mistake & owned up to it. 9 times out of 10, these type of people never see the errors of their ways & continue to behave this way.
@your_friendly_neighborhood74592 жыл бұрын
@@starlightdash4285 I guess I’m one of the lucky ones, right? I might be considered extra lucky, because if he didn’t change, it could’ve ruin my friendship with his daughter whom I had been friends with for about six years at that point. We’re still friends, so that’s a plus I suppose.

So hard work is certainly admirable but if the same results could be achieved with less it's stupid to waste time and energy doing it the hard way. I feel like the always work harder crowd forgets the whole point of that hard work is so they can provide for their families, have more free time, whatever but it likely isn't work related. Work smarter not harder.

I went from working a warehouse to a help desk job. I make a dollar less. But drive not even half the distance and basically do nothing most the day. Eventually, I'll probably be making more at a job that is about 1000 times easier then the warehouse job. On top of that they don't care if I do homework between calls. I'm in college. Don't hate that some people have easier jobs. It's just how it is.

Playing games for money or being a youtuber or what-have-you is a job... It's just one that doesn't provide the typical benefits, meaning there's no guarantee you're always gonna make money from what you do, and there's no external support with things like medical, dental, basic insurance and the other things being a full-timer at a company would give you. It's work, but it's more entrepreneurial, I guess you could say.
@starlightdash42852 жыл бұрын
Ikr, people just think that “It’s my way or the highway”. I’m not saying that these people are wrong for saying it, because everyone has their own preferences. However, you can’t expect the same thing from everyone else because different people have their strengths & weaknesses.
