Video: Light rail seen seconds before fatal crash

Video obtained by 11 News Investigates shows the moments before the Light Rail train crashed into a car, killing Lamar Patterson, a 17-year-old St. Frances Academy football star. Former train operator Tayvon Smith, 44, pleaded guilty Friday to reckless endangerment and was sentenced to 18 months of detention in connection with the crash on Feb. 2, 2022, at the Maple Road rail crossing in Linthicum. Prosecutors and Patterson's family pointed to the video while calling on the Maryland Transit Administration to increase safety.
