When she herself was the one having the affair. Everyone who knew Charles said he was totally in love with her, until she started her threats etc. This was a planned ambush. A setup to get him there, to carry out the murder.

If only Tammy was able to be warned by Charles without Chad intercepting. There's a video here on KZbin where Charles tells police that Lori moved his truck from the airport lot so that he wouldn't have a ride home when his plane landed. She also repeatedly threatened to kill him before he died. She ran off to Hawaii for 58 days using his money and credit cards. She didn't even work, and she took advantage of him financially.
