Trivia time. Muramasa was a swordsmith whose blades were said to make people go berserk, and some people believed that to the point where they were outlawed in multiple provinces. I was going to compare Adams sword to Kojiro sasakis monohoshizao (meaning laundry pole), but most historical art depicts it as a katana with a slightly longer blade, rather than a straight edged nodachi. Other than that, I could bring up a few nitpicks like a few ftl feats. But 1: the ftl feats are too few and inconsistent to consider seriously, and as you said, even if I did, Sam is simply faster. And 2. How high frequency blade vibrations interacting with aura is purely speculative. It might not matter, it might wear his aura down like a power sander, but regardless the force of the swing would still take large chunks from his aura Overall, Adam is simply playing Sam's game, and throwing a tantrum won't change that.

If anything, Adam's anger is only going to work in Sam's favor, as his anger is going to cause him to make mistakes, which Sam is going to be able to take advantage of those mistakes and land blows and take Adam apart piece by piece until he inevitably finishes him off

@@memine8795 mmhmm. Sam's biggest strength in my opinion is his ability to understand weaknesses. He showed it with Raiden and Armstrong by finding miniscule gaps in their forms and abilities. To beat Adam, you need two things. 1. Be able to keep up with him until he loses his cool. 2. Be able to whittle his aura down.

Adam at best is around town with relativistic speeds while Samuel is casually small country level to potentially small continent level with around MFTL+ speeds thanks to scaling to the likes of Senator Armstrong and Ripper Blade Mode Raiden,and is more experienced,skilled and more advanced/versatile than Adam,so I don’t see why people are arguing who would win,since it’s a stomp and the battle would definitely go to the obvious winner,Jetstream Samuel Minuano Rodriquez.

This was a good remake and yeah, I highly doubt lightspeed RWBY characters is a thing, even with Ruby and her semblance since the base speed for the verse is lightning speeds and a bit above and when on guard, characters without a speed semblance can track Ruby and counter her like Roman did, meaning that while the semblance provided a decent speed increase, I doubt it’s anything more than twice Ruby’s normal speed (this just being some evidence for why normal RWBY characters don’t scale to lightspeed). And as I mentioned in the Ruby vs Nero remake, I doubt RWBY characters have actual low city level scaling for the cast themselves since when directly hit by Ozpin’s staff, both Hazel and Salem were completely obliterated and left as nothing but ash at most (being at the centre means they took the full force of the attack and Oscar was likely protected by a combination of magic and his aura if we assume that Ozpin didn’t install some kind of protection for himself and his hosts when they use the explosion) while the characters in the Grimm Whale had left from the centre of the blast zone and took cover, so while they were all likely hit, they wouldn’t have taken the full force of the attack and thus would scale lower than the explosion in durability. As for the Mantle bomb, Vine only needed to contain the explosion enough for it to not destroy the abandoned city and he was killed with some of the explosion escaping as well, so he wouldn’t fully scale to it either and neither would Yang since the Ace Ops were confirmed to be holding back against Team RWBY, so Yang couldn’t fully scale to Vine since she beat one who was caught off guard and suppressed. Also, as a slight mention to Neo just waking away from the explosion that killed the Grimm Whale, there are two things that should be of note and they are that we don’t know how close the girl was to the centre of the explosion or if she had cover from it, which means we don’t know how much of the explosion her durability actually took and since aura protects the user while active, it means that no injury would actually come to Neo, so it doesn’t seem like an endurance factor since RWBY characters (minus Maiden powered characters and Salem) don’t take actual damage to their bodies until their aura breaks and without aura, the cast can be killed as easily as a normal human as you mentioned. So overall, I agree with the results, but it would be a fight we’re Adam needs equalised stats overall to fight back against Sam in general and the mercenary would be able to play around with the Faunus with Mid difficulty through his skill and ability to make Adam play to Sam’s strengths. So I would say Sam wins against equalised stats Adam with Mid difficulty and No difficulty if we take away the equalised stats. Side note, but I wonder how Blake will react to the robo wolf that was hunting her down during the fight given her fear of dogs. I actually kind of want to see it.

The small city level scaling actually mainly comes from downscaling characters from the maidens. Primarily Cinder and Penny as they were shown to be relative as Cinder broke through the same barrier that tanked the explosion point blank, which is simply city level. and it's been shown that higher level characters can tank serious attacks from maidens and damage them. As shown when the ace ops preformed pretty well against Penny who we have no reason to believe was holding back. And I never said vine fully scales to the explosion just that he massively dampened it. Again if he did the base cast would be on a higher level. Although I really don't see how Yang wouldn't scale to vines durability at least in AP even if you want to say they held back and RWBY doesn't match up in terms of skill Yang pretty definitively broke through his aura, which there's never been any implications that someone can just choose when their aura breaks nor do I see any reason for the ace ops to do so as they knew RWBY was fighting seriously so they would at the very least keep their defensive. And even saying that they held back skill wise is contradicted by Harriot who Marrow specifically calls out in the middle of the fight for going all out from the start which she confirms is the case in her response and even then Ruby 1v1s her and pretty decisively comes out on top despite trying to convince Harriot to stop fighting and playing defensively for the majority of the fight. Meaning either Harriot is a massive weak link in her team, Ruby is a league above her own team, or they're relative to each other.

@@rane932 I don’t remember a barrier that was used to block the explosion, though it might have just been a detail I have missed and with the points you brought up, I can see why city level RWBY characters is possible, but I still have my doubts with how the cast and their aura are damaged by lesser attacks, with Hazel seeming to be one of the most durable in the show and yet was killed by the explosion with a nearly full supply of aura and Nora being ultimately overwhelmed by absorbing electricity that wasn’t from the entirety of Atlas. Also, I do recognise that Yang broke Vine’s aura legitimately, but he was off guard during the final blow given his surprise (which seems to weaken aura) and given how calm he is, it does make sense that he would hold back and since Harriet mostly uses speed and having her weapon enhance her strength to deal fast and hard blows, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a weaker aura than her teammates while still being in the same tier.

Honestly the scaling consistency in the show is MK11 levels of non-existent. It's a case of "the winner is whoever the writers want" in the worst possible way. It's why I don't necessarily disagree with RWBY being placed lower but I just go with the middle ground to be safe. I've seen calcs that would place the magic users at Island level.

While I know the magic users of the series are on another tier since someone like Cinder can fight off a mostly fresh Team RWBY and Raven casually making a storm, I do think that the usual RWBY character is in the Building to multi building level of power. However, going for the middle is a safe bet, so ultimately just go with what you think is right for the scaling of that mess of a series.
