great review optibotimus, finally a true bumblebee of G1 has been made. If there was something i could critize of the review it would be the brightness of the light which for me is a bit high than usual and the white background which pretty much nullifies the detail of the Spike figure to see it clearly, specially when the camera looses focus because of the white background and the figure been white as well. Perhaps a lighter Grey background would have been a better option. but other than that great review.

I just got Bumblebee today,and I love this guy already. I'm glad that I saw the arms pop off of Spike in this vid before I got it today, or else I'd be upset ( it's something I suppose I can learn to live with). I've already lost one of the mirrors, but other than that he's got his "happy face" on and he's smiling on my bookshelf.

Spike was in his late teens when he was palling around with the Transformers, so no it really doesn't stand to reason his head would just spontaneously get bigger, since it really doesn't that late in development. Also with the details on the mech suit Spike's face, that really looks way more like Daniel than Spike.

The first thing that struck me with this figure when I saw the pictures was "The head doesn't look right". Now that you've pointed out that its the lack of panel lining, I understand. The panel lining was such a prominent part of the original character model, that it doesn't look right without it. I also see that Bumblebee's head doesn't seem to translate to 3D well. The head on the figure tried to clean it up, but it lost the roundness that the cartoon had. I also had a problem with the back, but now that I see the tire is removable, so I'm fine with it.

***** Apparently, according to the lineart shown in the Masterpiece Official Guide, the one in the exosuit is supposed to be Daniel...which makes me wonder why they put the Daniel figure with _Bumblebee_, and not with Hot Rod, considering Daniel had more interaction with Hot Rod than he did with Bumblebee. :/ Because of that, I can see why people keep thinking that the one in the exosuit is Spike...but it's supposed to be Daniel; the hair is a dead giveaway, since in the movie, Spike and Daniel had different hair, and since the Exosuit figure has Daniel's hair, that's a pretty good way to tell. Still don't know why they put him with Bumblebee, since it's Daniel who's in the suit, not Spike.

Impossible Pie Nope, nothing specifying it; the manual only calls it "Exosuit". The hair makes it pretty clear that it's Daniel, though; Spike had more spiky hair, where Daniel had smoother hair.

The one wing mirror with Bumblebee means that Bumblebee's alt mode is the pre-1967 model of the Beetle Type 1, a second wing mirror was added with the 1967 model. It's a nice touch. I'm hoping my MP Bumblebee will be dispatched at some point this month, no idea if he will be though or if it won't be until early next year.

Could be. Most beetles have been customized to one extent or another by now, but I can't imagine having a pre-'67 chassis and purposely making it look like a later model :) I did a little checking, too, and the passenger side mirror was optional, not standard. Anyway, that bulbous, super-beetle nose says "no earlier than 1971."

You guys just assume that i do these and put them out without caring about the quality involved. I am very picky. Probably more than anyone else but i can't pretend to know what it is you might see. I can only judge based on my own perceptions. And my perception was that i could see things fine. From a distance, sure things are harder to see in terms of detail, but that's why i zoomed in.

(You do this a lot, whether you want to acknowledge it or not) It IS hard to see a lot of things in your videos, because of your background and your refusal to change it accordingly. White is very harsh on the eyes and subjects when lighter (even white) figures are placed on it. 90% of the time I have no issue cause you're generally good at placing the figures in a good spot for viewing, but this was a bit hard to see anything going on with Spike, and the colours in general are brighter than they probably should be.

One of the coolest mp figures to date and definitely the best iteration of bumblebee. Only criticism is that it could use some diecast pieces to give it a bit of weight. It's all very plasticcy!

Optimus & Ian McRobbie. IT would help to change the background in a (very) light grey colour or expirimenting with the lamp colour or heat... I use 12% grey and 2 10% orange spotlights at 45 angle.

Tom Roobol I don't personally like gray for a background. I prefer the infinite white look. It's a personal choice. I also prefer a color temperature around 5000K to give the proper colors on the subject i'm filming. But definitely thank you for sharing your setup

One thing that drives me crazy in the few masterpiece Bumblebee reviews I've seen is the car comparisons to the other Autobot cars. Everyone says they scale nicely but a Beetle is not that small compared to a Lamborghini . Bumblebee is undersized. I'm not mad but I wish people would realize it. A Beetle has a lot of height and width because they actually can fit more than one person inside of it. Lol.

I'd also be really interested to see a Masterpiece Cliffjumper, and how that transformation works. Optobotimus you do some of the best work on the step by step transformation process. That said I unsubscribed awhile ago due to the videos literally hurting my eyes. It wasn't personal or a dislike thing. I came back today because I wanted to see the transformation process in depth. I rejoined your channel because nobody hits that high bar you set with your instructions. I did look around. You won me back but I must say this review seemed even more ruthlessly bright. It was to the point that I couldn't see Spike. It even hurt to try & watch this & I could only make it 3/4's through the video. I hope you don't think I'm being mean. Just a consumer with feedback to help you become the best TF guy on KZbin. I don't have any experience & don't think I could do better. I deff don't know the difficulty level involved. The brightness comment is strictly my end user experience. Peaugh doesn't get as in depth as you but his reviews are pain free & easy to see imo. Thank you for your contributions though. I've used your reviews instead of instruction sheet several times.

BIGLARRY100 As i mentioned, i adjusted the levels to the point i felt comfortable. I'm sorry your experience wasn't similar. I could and can see Spike perfectly fine. Sure i can't pick out minute details from far away, but that's why i zoom in. The settings are actually lower than my normal videos. If you haven't seen a video of mine in a while, i would recommend checking out some of those to see what i'm talking about. This video doesn't have my normal settings. Peaugh doesn't his videos with his style and it works for him. He's been very successful in that regard, but i don't compare myself to anyone else. I compare myself to me and what i thought looked the best possible. Now, white and yellow are very bright. They reflect colors more than darker colors. But in keeping with my personal standard of minimizing shadowing, i have to keep things a little brighter. The infinite white style is what i use for that. Is it perfect, nope. Am i perfect, hell no. Despite this being my profession, i'm not a professional photographer or videographer. I have sought out advice from professionals in the field and while this particular video might not have been the best because of the subjects i was filming, the rest is fairly sound. I appreciate your feedback and in resubscribing. I do appreciate that a great deal!
