As pointed out below, the red tracks is his Diaclone ( pre G1) deco. Also notice the all-silver Grimlock in the foreground of the box art.

The red Tracks on the back of the box is the first European version of him based on the original Diaclone figure, due to a bad sales they re-released him in the Blue we all know and love (Ironicly He probalby loves himself the most;)). Later eHobby would release a remold of the red Tracks renaming him Road Rage. :) Knowing is half the battle!

Hoist was my first Transformers toy and the first "toy" that was not a stuffed animal. I remember my older brother got some knock-off army helicopter robot while I got this truck and I was actualy bummed. Also I was way to young for that toy and I had no idea or understanding if the consept of a transforming toy so the truck to me just seem broken. I had a lot of transformers later when I got bit older Aaahhh the memories

@optibotimus my bad... i forgot to mention to carefully wash the area with warm soapy water first... just enough to get off any oils from fingers or from the molding process. worked great for me.. unless it has something to do with the brand of polish... i just used whatever my gf had.. ??

That upper arm sticker (red square) is different on the Commemorative Series reissue. The sticker is a hollowed-square with a black panel underneath that's attached to the same sticker. Weird, because my G1 original Trailblazer has that same solid red square like the one that you showed. Commemorative Series also has a sticker (instead of paint) for that black/yellow section that is rubbing off on the encore version. Didn't know how to attach the tow section though on bot mode. Thanks!

Am I the only one so far who thinks PowerCore Combiners Smoulder with a new head and some extra details would make a wicked Hoist? ...I think it's something about the shoulders on both... that said I could be totally alone in this theory :P

Hoist went Back in time with Warpath not Powerglide your thinking of a different episode. I like Hoist when I was a little kid My dad picked him up at a Car boot sale and he was missing his back pack head and hands but i was 6 so i didn't care will definatly buy him soon

I have the Commemorative Series version of him, he's fairly nice. He does still have the yellow eyes and those red stickers are not full squares, they lack the center and do fit properly around the screwhole. Also stickered autobot symbol on that one still. Overall a nice figure.

the red square stickers you put on his shoulders are not the stickers that are supposed to go there. they're actually a cut-out portion of a red square that is supposed to go around the screw. look at the sticker sheet again.
