They are truly amazing. They add about 10 km to the 40 km outer-range of artillery, and can hit within 1 meter of a given position. If you were sitting at your kitchen table, you could drive 30 min away from it at highway speeds and drop an Excalibur shell from there directly onto your centerpiece. Combine that with surveillance drones, and there's nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. I've seen videos of Russian vehicles trying to use civilians as human shields like the cowards they are by parking in the interior courtyard of a block of flats, and Excalibur vaporizes the unit without touching the buildings. $50 000 a shell may seem expensive, but when every shell eliminates a multi-million dollar Russian unit, it becomes clear what a bargain you're getting.

i'm russian, and i can promise you that no one is going to rebel. opposition to putin is slim in russia. there are some liberal pockets in large cities like st Petersburg and moscow, but for the most part russians support their regime because they are stupid. one of my uncles who still lives in russia was telling me how "russian microchips" are the best in world when in reality the russian military was stealing Samsung washing machines in Ukraine for parts to build jets and rockets. these people are absolutely brain dead, large portions of my family included. don't count on them to stop this.

I have to wonder, when britain was in need, during the battle for it's skies in WW2, how many foreign airmen, and aircrew came to their defense? This is a fight NOT ONLY for Ukraine, but for Democracy, and the right to self determination. Give them the planes, Canada, you are replacing your CF-18s anyway, so ship them over, the F-18 is the perfect plane for Ukraine, it's easier to maintain, and cheaper to repair than almost any other combat plane in service. An extremely valid point you make. In reference to the Battle of Britain a quarter were non British pilots. You had Irish,Poles,New Zealanders,South African,Australians and others. Check out the Irish fighter pilot ace Brendan "Paddy" Fincucane for example. His father fought against the British in the 1916 Easter Rising but he became the youngest Wiing Commander in the history of the RAF!. Remember the "Eagle Squadron" who were US pilot volunteers who served with the RAF before the US officially joined WW2. On the other side of the world you had US Volunteer pilots in the "Flying Tigers" in China fighting against the Japanese again before the US officially entered the war. Even the German Condor Legion fought in the Spanish Civil War.

I share your concern. I read comments, apparently from our youth, about "tax dollars" that are going in to this. I feel that our youth have no appreciation of the fact that those who came before made the ultimate sacrifice. My great great grandfather died in Andersonville prison. My grandfather was a WWI vet and my father was a WWII vet. If they all ran away and hid, like these youth of today advocate, there would not be an America. Greetings to the beautiful city of Odesa, from Washington state in the US. I swam in the ocean there in 1982 when I was 25. It was a very memorable day. A group of people my age asked me to come sit with them on the beach. (I think they were Sasha, Natasha, Sasha, Sasha and Natasha. Really.) They played a barely audible copy of a copy of a recording of Pink Floyd, that I guess was captured off a radio station by someone near the border. That was contraband for you in those days. The Soviet (Russian) military was unsophisticated even then. My father (a WWII POW in Numemberg, Germany) also visited Leningrad, Kiev and Moscow. Kiev was the most beautiful, but Odesa was the most laid back. What memories you just brought back of traveling with him, now deceased. Even though the 1970s and 1980s seemed peaceful here, there were people like you who were dealing with this tyranny even then. Since it is all still fresh in your people's minds, I am certain that is what keeps you all fighting for freedom. Unfortunately, our youth here have no idea what it is to sacrifice. They have never seen hardship, and think that just because they are American, everything will continue to move along like it always has (in their minds). One day freedom will come to you. I truly believe that, because you are fighting for truth, honesty, dignity, family, and a whole lot of other things that keep you united. There is no avenue for a dictator except extinction, because all that unites him to his subordinates is fear. Once those subordinates are pushed away from the dinner table, and out of their comfort zone and discover that they want to have the clear consciences you have, they will revolt. I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know. I am not religious, and I don't default to a presumed "god" to deal with my problems. People must do what is necessary instead of acting like helpless victims, hoping that some "god" has a plan for them. It simply has never turned out well. @@SeanD808 I’ve seen the most accurate numbers publicly available. It’s more than possible that Ukraine can take back most of the remaining occupied territory, but is highly dependent on both Russia and Ukraines coming offensives as well as how long the war drags on. Kherson Oblast can be taken back as can much of Luthansk oblast. I’m sad to say I don’t see how they can take crimea without a multiyear siege and it’s doubtful the war will last into the new year. If it does it will be a world war. Likewise most of the Donbas currently controlled by Russia is unlikely to be retaken unless ceded during peace. It’s to fortified and to close to Russias front lines. Ukraine has lost a lot of GDP and population but they still have more than enough to fight with, with the wests help. Russia has the same but their armor groups are getting smaller and older and are relying more on infantry than mechanized warefare. That makes advancing slow, difficult, and costly. Russia would need one or 2 more mobilizations of the previous size to even have a hope of taking all of Ukraine. Russia has a decent shot of taking over most if not all of the Donbas and retaking territory up to around Kharkiv if there offensive goes insanely well but given the disposition of known units I give the edge to Ukraine

I always thought the talk of precision weapons were a way to the hide impreciseness of the weapons so that by hitting the target within a 'certain range' was considered a precise hit. i.e. KM's away. The excaliber, has proven to be a very very very effective artillery round. A true meaning of the term precision.

It’s not a joke when it’s said how accurate/stealthy/high end some of this stuff is; not to mention how relatively easy it is to mass produce, especially in comparison, with other countries, like China, who only are able to produce maybe one squadron of new generation aircraft a year. Why do you think the civilian casualties in the iRock Iran and Afghanistan wars were so low sure they were still high even one is too high but with precision weaponry it’s low we can see what rushes doing and it’s not necessarily because they’re insane but it’s because they literally need to level everything to destroy what they want to destroy. They don’t have the ability to just drop a couple rounds on a house, they need to shoot the house the field, and the entire village. And shit maybe even after all that the house still stands.
