Perhaps the most atmospheric song in the entire game with its juxtaposition to the Golden Saucer

I listened to this song for lots of time, when my grandpa passed away. Last 2 years my grandma reunited with him. Now I'm crying while listening to this :(

I lost my mom past february. She was only 67 yo. I was living only with her during many years Still dad and brother Alive...but many km of distance away I am the only one familiar left living in the area now. No GF to live with. *(Music start playing inside my mind)* Greetings from Spain.

Always found it unsettling how you're being followed briefly in the desert prison.

For the brief time you're here, this was a very fitting track for a desert prison. I imagine most players finished it fast enough that they didn't hear the entirety of the track before leaving. I know I did the first couple of times, not realizing there was more to hear.

Being 12 years old when I first played this, if took me weeks to find the path to Dyne! This song made me feel lonely, stuck and melancolic! I know this is not the most popular ff7 track, but for me its the most fitting piece of music to any setting ive experienced in my entire life!

Had the exact same experience; also, same age. I didn't even understand English properly back then.

Same exactly experience for me and the same age. I remember it perfectly. I usually played the game in the living room, but that night I was playing it in my room. All of my family was out of the house and it was late at night and wandered aimlessly through the desert. It filled me with the exact emotions you're describing, and my family being gone only intensified that loneliness feeling. This OST has a lot of these great vibes. I was kind of pissed to see they only played this track very briefly in the remake.

@@trollingisasport Its crazy how a video game can teleport you back in time and make you feel exactly how u did when you first played it!! Yeah, I overall LOVE the rebirth sountrack, but the way they handled the music at Corel Prison was a letdown to me!

@@trollingisasport I remember sitting on the floor in my parents' bedroom, southern Italy, mid of summer, early afternoon, stifling hot, motionless air, sun beating down from the window, deserted city, oppressive silence pierced by this motif going on and on and on... I felt so stuck and sticky and desperate on so many levels. Happy to be able to share this with someone. ❤

The second I realized that the prison was the burnt-out remnant of Corel; the desert, all that remained of what was once Corel Forest; the Gold Saucer, an amusement park callously and cynically built atop the graves of those ShinRa murdered; haunting, and this theme really sells it.
