Listening to this music is like someone having sex with your brain who is good at having sex using a prosthetic organ and programming it to deliver in their stead. It's super duper brain sex all of my neurons are aflame I completely forgot about my phallic protrusion. By the way I know what inspired the FF7 writers. I lost my father only he wasn't dead. Growing up without a father is like he is dead. If you meet him when he's an adult and bring him back it's not really possible. It's like Sephiroth. The one winged angel, only having one parent. Imagine being a kid who lost his father in war and had accepted that, moved on only for the father to one day missing from action turn up, way too late to be a father, now he is merely any other male. He cannot raise you as you are now grown up. Sephiroth is like your father coming back from the dead after it's too late. At that point it's just complicated because there's nothing in it for you. If you father is there for you as a child you embrace him. When he is not there and instead is only there as an adult then it's unwelcome, it's too late. To have to confront your father after the fact. Why weren't you there? What use to me are you now? In Japan they would look at the kids from the war, the orphans who had hyper individuality losing a father to learn from and truly becoming themselves for inspiration. This is seen in FF8. This is why it resonated so strongly with me as a kid when I lost my father. The angst and the having to fight alone, being on your own and forced to find inner strength all hit me very hard as a kid who lost his father and then for a while his mother. I managed to stay out of crime and it if wasn't for people like Nobuo Uematsu to help among many other men to fill in for the absence of losing my father so to inspire me as to what I might become I would not be the man I am today. He is such a man who helped raise many children in need. I only wish I could even become half as much a man as him and a father to children everywhere. I too strive to achieve excellence to set an example for all.

I was the same way, though I was definitely late to the party. I was in middle school around 2015 listening to my vg osts and this popped up in my recomended. Immediately floored by the sound and the visuals alongside, I had to find out what led to this point. My dad had passed away not much later so I had gotten a lot of his old ps1/2 stuff. So I might have been 20 years late, but having the game's story resonate with me during that time, alongside playing it on original hardware on a crt I dug out of the garage, proved to me that some games are truly timeless, and ff7 became one of my favorite things in general

Same. I wasn't prepared, didn't have any powerful weapons or limits break fully upgraded. Sephiroth SLAPPED me so hard i farmed in those damn caves for hours also trying to get ribbons from Mr. Tonberry. HELL. Still one of the greatest final boss fight I've ever played (together with Mother 2)

I kinda wish they always reserved this theme to Safer Sephiroth. After playing FF7 for the first time, to me "normal" Sephiroth's theme has always been "Those Chosen by the Planet" but in other forms of media where he appears, they always just play One Winged Angel which I get why but I feel like it shouldn't be a theme just used whenever.

I can’t stop getting this recommended to me, so I felt that I should comment about a dream that I had here because it had something to do with this boss fight. So, I was downstairs in the kitchen in my house and I looked out of the window and I noticed that there was this weird commotion happening in my backyard. I realized that it was this boss fight OCCURRING IN MY BACKYARD. I didn’t really react all that much, like, I wasn’t scared. I was just like, staring all dumbfounded. Like I didn’t know how to react or like I was just tired or just seeing things. I wonder if I acted as if this was a common occurrence. Or if it was like family drama like “Oh no, the family is fighting again at this hour” and I wonder if I was just in the kitchen trying to make my coffee. I don’t remember how it exactly played out nor do I remember everything that happened but this was the impression that I got from that dream. Technically, it wasn’t a lucid dream, so I wouldn’t have that much awareness of what was happening in front of me. So I was rather mindless at the moment. I think about it a lot and I ponder if I would see more boss fights just suddenly occurring in my backyard of all places. Also, the wings on Safer Sephiroth look tasty and delicious. I can’t help but think of KFC when I look at those wings. I wonder if they’ll taste best if they were either roasted, fried, baked, broiled, barbecued, or grilled (or perhaps even cooked into a sort of chicken sandwich like at Popeye’s)? Entities with feathered wings always look so tasty. Gotta be honest with ya, should’ve cooked and eaten him afterwards. Y’know like, how defeating, cooking, and eating monsters is done in Dungeon Meshi for example. Though personally, I don’t mind the idea of devouring gods so as long as they’re delicious. Galeem from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is another god that I like to fantasize about cooking and devouring in so many ways. God, those flashy wings look so good to chop up and eat. I wonder if it’s like taffy…
