And it really doesn't makes sense that of "necessary to play all the other games to enjoy" that's just a cheap excuse for a mediocre plot. You could play KH2 without playing CoM or 358/2 days or even BBS and still enjoy and understand everything that the game offers.

Though I probably should have seen the sudden third-act introduction of time travel with extremely vague rules as a red flag in DDD. "Cannot change events that are destined to happen" sounds like either you can change nothing at all, or the writers get to pick and choose what you can't change at their whim, which is just lazy. But I still think Birth By Sleep, 358/2 Days, and Chain of Memories had me invested in each cutscene and dialogue exchange, and also kept me entertained with their gameplay. They're full quality games in my book.

Once you collect all 300 crabs in pirates of the Caribbean then you unlock a new page to the Winnie the poo world that directly ties into the book from the beginning of Shrek and allows you to unlock the Dreamworks levels. The biggest issue I had with the game was that it felt like Nomura was so ahead of himself in setting up new stories (KH4) instead of trying to give the fans a conclusion to a crazy saga we all waited for over 15 years. A noticeable amount of climactic points in the game, character interactions we had been waiting for as well as closure in general was rushed.

They could've even had all those times the Organization members just came to shit-talk you end up with battles, and it would've made the game feel more even. Fuck, have some re-unions and significant story events take place before almost exclusively the last few hours of the game. I loved those moments when they happened, but once you end the game, you really only come away with remembering, like...2 hours of gameplay, because I'll be honest, the re-hashed Disney movies didn't stay for me as much as the actual KH story bits (though honestly, in my opinion, the Kingdom of Corona and the Caribbean had a weird magic to their locations and story, above the other worlds).
