This is an incredibly well done rap battle. Gold's lines are all about how he has worked very hard to make it this far and that red is just another stepping stone that doesn't understand when he's been stepped on. His raps are all clever attacks on red's character. Red's lyrics are all centered on himself as being so great that people like Gold aren't even an afterthought for him because of his experience and masterful skills, he is insinuating that Gold would be nothing without him. His raps are all centered on dissing gold without directly attacking or mentioning him. I'm disappointed to have just clicked on this video today, should have done so years ago

Most people don't read the manga. Red is actually the Champion. He went to Mt. Silver to get away and clear his mind. He knew about the extra pokemon. In the manga he became one of the strongest trainers. While Gold in the vido game is the protagonist its the player who beats him. The main question is why did Gold go climbing Mt. Silver anyways. If no one was there he just be a fool. Also in the game it's suppose to be Red and he doesn't say anything because it's your character seeing things.
