Viego was Emo Band Boy, which is a bit funny as Pentakill is making a return and apparently Viego on there. As for Thresh's appearance, apparently he seem to gotten himself a good amount of the Mist to be able to move around.

Hey there! Don't know if you will find this, and I don't have time to look at everyone else's comments to fill in details so here is just his basic story. (Note this champion has been my main since 2016, so anything that happens in the story with him makes me really excited). Thresh was monk on an Island known as the blessed isles, and was to guard a chamber in the depths of an ancient temple. In this chamber were a number of artifacts that have been cursed. Over time these artifacts corrupted him into a torturer. Thresh actually has a color story where it describes him finding a man who infused himself with magic, so that he could heal any wound. Thresh would take his hook, and peel his entire body of skin, wait for it to heal, and do so again. He wore chains to terrify his victims as he approached and sought to find better ways to hurt people. Well up on land, a huge explosion called the ruination happened, which was basically a burst of magic so powerful it turned the island into a desolate wasteland, and everyone exposed to the mist on the island would become undead. Thresh comes up and becomes the skeleton shadow guy you saw. He joined a new champion called Viego and is now traveling trapping souls in his lantern so he can torture them forever. I definitely left a lot out, but that is enough of his main story to help understand the cinematic a little better I hope! *Note we have no idea what the coin is about at this time, it is as new to us as you

Thresh's lore is more detailed in the Ruination book they released :) It tells the story of how Thresh was betrayed by the elders by not picking him to be their understudy and sending him off to the blessed isles to work as a guard in the underground tunnels. He sought out the waters of life and manipulated Kalista, Viego and Ryze (when Ryze was still a child understudy of a powerful mage) to get what he wanted. He killed the elders of the Blessed Isles for revenge and convinced Viego that he could bring Isolde back via the waters of life. The Ruination occured when Viego tried to revive Isolde and she was furious because she wanted to be left to die in peace.

Entire Thresh lore dumb let's go There's this place called the blessed isles where Thresh is just kinda a normal guy, he's pretty unpleasent to be around and enjoyers studying up about suffering for some reason. One day, Viego comes along trying to revive their dead wife, they fail. And it sets off a massive explosion that turns the blessed isles and everything / everyone on it into the classic League black and light green style. The blessed isles are now known as the Shadow Isles. There's a bunch of League champs there, including Viego. But anyway, Thresh kinda just mopes around, and anyone dumb enough to head to the Shadow Isles, Thresh usually promptly kills and imprisons their souls inside his lantern. Only one person has ever escaped the lantern, they are called Senna. This is shown in the Senna: Shadow's Embrace cinematic. One day, a small, powerful, furry creature shows up, they are called Vex. They are in short, "kinda emo", and lend Viego power to basically cover the entire world with spooky ghost mist and kill a bunch of people. Meanwhile in the real world, Riot Games want to add Thresh into Wild Rift (League mobile). But uh oh! A wild chinese government has appeared and says that any skull or dead body related media is worth a M for mature rating over there. Since Riot doesn't want this, they make Thresh have human skin... which is ironic... because he literally has a voiceline saying "Flesh is a prison" which they kept in the game even when using Unbound Thresh... anyway they make it the default look in Wild Rift and make it a free skin in the main game. People get really annoyed because Riot turned Thresh into a sexy e-boy but hey it's whatever. Anyway the story for Unbound Thresh in game is that Thresh was collecting ALL the souls from Viego's mist rampage and got powerful until he got himself some skin. Funny how you say he has a super sayan form this technically is it lmao. Oh yeah Senna comes along with a bunch of friends and fragments of Viego's dead wife and kills / seals away the dude. Now Thresh is kinda just the leader of the isles.
