this sounds so much better on viennese horn... we played that at our concert and the soloist played it off by heart and was so nervous that he forgot everything! so he just played one long note every 2 measures! that was so funny... haha!

heehee my horn instructor taught this guy. :D WOW I knew he was amazing, but I'd never heard him before. Wish I could live some day. I wouldn't call 'Romance' hard though. It wasn't at all for me and I'm only 17. >.> Lol and I stink at advice--just hear the notes in your head before you play 'em.

I am not a musician, I am depression survivor and I play horn as a therapy but I would jump in a horn bell, if I had such a "trombone" tone. Tone is everything on a horn. I was happy to hear real virtuoso playing Romance but this just let me down...
@alistairhenderson25318 жыл бұрын
Idk what you're talking about, dude. Eric is a legend. Having heard him in person, I can only really describe his tone as "I think that might be a chocolate fondue fountain, not a horn."
@stickom8 жыл бұрын
I am certainly wrong and I apologize. I grew up in musicians family though I am a veterinarian. All I know is that everything is music like dance like sing. Who can sing, can play any instrument. There is also deep understanding necessary of the style and era such as era of Camille Saint Saens. I still remember class of my horn teacher drawing a picture of the time of Saint Saens. Why it is horn in his music? Because horn has a potential to change color at any note similar to violin depending on music dialogue. That is what I am looking at all recordings of horn music other than Mozart, changing a color not just execution. I also think that valve horn is many instruments in one and each one has different timber and that horn player should draw different colors of that sound when ever it is possible.

After listening to him a good deal I just can't get into his sound. It's good but it isn't head turning like Baborak's or Allegrini's. Too much point to Mr. Ruske's sound for my liking.
