Before he got hired to spin the Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak was doing local forecasts for L.A. Fred Silverman had doubts for Pat at first as Fred thought Pat was "too local" for game show hosting. Nonetheless, Fred gave Pat a chance and he did a good job hosting Wheel.
