Creating audio submixes in Adobe Premiere Pro

Hi Colin, Question: of what use is the "master" control under the "microphone" in relation with the use of "send"? We can also send to a submix by this way.

That is showing where the Input signal is coming from .

Sorry, I don't understand. I've created a submix and use the "master" zone to change it to this submix. It works perfectly well. I think it can be used if you send to only one submix. It's also impossible to set pre or post fader. I'm only curious about what is the utility of that feature rather than the one your showing in your video.

That option allows you to only send to the Submix. The default option, and the best choice, is to allow the channel to send to the Master and use the Submix routing amount to send to the Submix. Basically, what I showed is the best way to use Submixes.

Hello, I'm from Brazil and I was looking for a solution for this error of the lack of continuity of the effect and, in full 2023 adobe still hasn't solved this issue. I was trying to control the input and output of the effect through the keyframes in the track send of Adobe Premiere and the same thing happens, it cuts the effect abruptly. Thanks!!!

Hi Colin. After many years of using Premiere, I am using a sub-mix, which I used to do in Audition. Having completed the project, I want to insert a title sequence at the start. The problem is that the submix adjustments to levels are not locked to the project. They stay where they were, so every adjustment is now offset. What can I do? Is there a setting to control this?

At time 1:51 with the sub-mixer open the choices are Mono Stereo & 5.1 I thought that adobe DROPPED 5.1 audio tracks in PPCC 2018

Premiere Pro CC does not include a license for Dolby encoding anymore, but all the functions are still there to decode and mix 5.1.

Encoding means the same as exporting so no, you now need to purchase a Dolby license to export Dolby 5.1. Decoding means the same as reading the file so you can import and playback a Dolby encoded file but not export a Dolby encoded file.

how about a common workflow practice and a 101 on the audio track and audio mixer interface. i have a question also im currently working on a project and both the video and audio are synced but when i play its out of sync both clip line up..do you know what causing this and how i can fix it?? i seen video about this but it is for windows and im on a mac can you help??

The problem with a "common" workflow is, it's not common to everyone. Many users have completely different workflows. I already have basic tutorials on both the Track and Clip mixers. It's very difficult to say why your playback is out of sync without knowing more about the media you're using, your computer configuration, if you're using an audio interface, how are you syncing the clips.

How can auto ducking be used on a submix track? Lets say A1 & A2 are set to dialogue and have been sent to submix Voice and A3 & A4 are set to music and sent to a submix Music.

If you're using the Essential Sound Panel, you need to designate individual clips for any automatic changes so you can't do that on a Submix. You can use Alex Audio Butler on any track type including a Submix. Here's a tutorial on Alex Audio Butler: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hX-6d4l_ncmVbqM

I used to work for Adobe for 17+ years and these clips were part of a demo we did back in the day. They were shot by Rob Legato and it was a film noire detective style that was a lot of fun to work with. Yes, but you'd have to copy and paste in the audio from all the other cameras into the Master Multicam Sequence.

Thank you for the videos, I enjoy them and learn a lot. I have a question about creating a voice narration. I use ppt slides saved as images and record the audio separately. Then combine them in premiere. It works quite ok, main issues are after I export the final video, the timing of audio and slide are not well synchronized (but they seems to be in sync when preparing the file) and the font (text is in Japanese) is blurry. Would appreciate if you could provide some suggestions.

For the timing, what happens when you render the Timeline? In the Sequence menu choose Render In to Out. What might be happening is the playback of your computer is different from the export so rendering will give you a real preview of what the final export will be. Have you tried turning down the playback resolution in the Program Monitor? Look for the Full dropdown menu and see if changing it to 1/2 or 1/4 makes a difference. For the font are you changing the font size or the scale?
