Hot dam Collin, you've done it again! Love your work and the way you make something so sophisticated, easy as! The background thingy doesn't bother me at all. But would love it if you could make a video describing step by step the way in which you would color grade a short video. I produce, real estate walkthru's, promo vids for businesses and don't need all the hollywood grading, just something to improve. Thanks again Collin

All I see are pretty colours that would make a rocking album cover or random piece of visual art :P I know it's full of information, but it's just too damn purdy!

In other words, I find the Lumetri Scopes to be visually beautiful beyond the point of information, but it seems people get so wrapped up in data they completely ignore how visually appealing the lumetri scopes look just on their own. Ignore the video, ignore the data, just take in the beauty of the waveforms. Otherwise, I guess you just have to be a visual artist to appreciate the beauty of the waveforms.

Oh yeah, they are very visually appealing and if you ever saw the original scopes in Premiere Pro, which were beyond hideous with posterized colors and low bit depth. In a word, embarrassing. The cool thing is, Lumetri scopes are beautiful to look at and functional.

As a still photographer this parallel universe of video is fascinating. Many of the Photoshop concepts show up but all the terminology is different. (No issues - new craft, new language.) Apparently video "scope" equals still "gamut." Actually, the video term seems more descriptive. Keep the range of colors within the capabilities of the media or they get wonky as some widget tries to yank an out of scope/gamut color back within the boundary. Again, no issues - actually pleasant when what I think is a new concept turns out to be different terminology and a different (actually better) application interface.

You're absolutely right. All the imaging knowledge you've gained makes these concepts easy to understand.

A general comment: I don't know about anyone else, but I find the flickering in the screen logo in the background to be distracting. I'd rather see a static VideoRevealed logo. Keep up the great work. :)

Hi Dale, I'll take that into consideration and if more people agree, I'll render a new background. The current background took 34 hours to Render.

+Dru Solberg - Adobe just announced that the scopes have an update coming out soon that increases the quality and allows the user to brighten or dim them. Pretty cool! It will probably be available in June.

How should you go about grading footage if there is a lot of color change in one continuous shot?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 6 жыл бұрын
That's going to be difficult for the Lumetri Color Panel; you'd have to add more instances of the Effect and use the Secondary controls to key just the colors you want to change. The bigger issues is, once you add 3 or 4 instances, it really slows down. Here's a tutorial on Secondaries: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIW4iXaBhM2pfsU

@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 5 жыл бұрын
You need to use the Lumetri Color panel and adjust one of the controls to reduce the red. There are several choices for doing that and I have a whole playlist on it: kzbin.info/aero/PL6npGHFAQO7cmHELyg6byRPB5obOYfDhi
