Yea,i was just thinking the same thing. What I’ve been thinking is I know rich people can just write a check for something like this,no problem,but how do people of “normal” means buy a multi million dollar yacht like this? I’m not trying to be tacky or crass but in the US buying a new Pick Up Truck has become a big deal ($75,000). Buying a Bearing yacht isn’t something that the average person can do. I can understand how Rico must feel about his new baby not being damaged during construction. Don’t worry Rico if they dent it,they’ll fix it!

Learning so much about how things are done on these small ships, think they are beyond boats. Rico knows a lot more than I ever will about boats, let alone ships. But seeing him down there, well, It made me laugh because it reminds me of a sign I saw in a shop once. Liked it so I found bought one for my own shop a long time ago. On newer versions, the rates are a lot higher. Hourly rate $50hr standard rate $75 if you watch $100 if you help $125 if you worked on it first $200 if you tell me how to do my job

Standing on the top deck, and looking down into the engine room, really gives a good perspective as to the size of the boat. Just amazing. Glad these another video for the engines alone. I’d have been happy sitting here for a whole afternoon watching the complete process in real time.

It will obviously be a beautiful ship when it’s finished. They feel they need to make content, but I can see it must be very frustrating for the engineers, to have customers interfering during the build.

I have a backup Kohler generator for my house. 7 years on, in an area where the power goes out A LOT, and it's been absolutely trouble-free, with regular routine maintenance. Once it ran continuously for 5 days solid, and kept the whole house powered as usual. Their marine generators must be extraordinarily reliable.

Bering’s experience is evident in the problems that were solved in advance, making this stuff looks easy. The block and tackle maneuver in that first generator was a thing of beauty! Last but not least, great job with the fish-eye lens shots from inside the equipment. Really cool.

I used to work for cummins in their power generation division (1-2mw, 16-20cyl engines, so a bit bigger than yours 😉😂). I never got tired of seeing engines get lowered into place. There is so many months of work that happens before they go in. Its always exciting.

Cant Wait to see part two. I think Rico was right to want the finish type plywood, once you see the video its clear that using it to position the generator helped protect the paint on the frame from scratches, which will help protect from rust and corrosion years down the line.😎

Standing in the salon in my boat with the floor lifted exposing the two engines thinking it is a long way down to the bottom of the bilge under the engines but that Bering is quite something else. Cant wait for the next exciting episode :)

From Rico's point of view, he has invested A LOT of money and energy into this project. It is a dream come true. Any scratch, ding or dent coukd negatively impact the value of thr end product regardless of how much you paid for it. Additionally if anything terrible happens (an engine is dropped at height into the bottom of the ship for instance) you could be looking at months of delay for repairs and replacement parts, impacting when you can start charters. From Victoria's perspective this is Bering and they WILL do it right...PERIOD. So let them do their job and enjoy the process. No need to get in their way. Neither of you is wrong, both of you are right. It is a stressful and exciting time. You are both going to deal with this in your own way. Wait until they are installing the appliances, soft furnishings and decor.... I have a feeling the tables will turn.

My dad built houses. And when people came in and started telling them how to do things he would say great. He would then have them sign a document saying they are responsible for that work and charge them 20% for them changing the plans. That stopped them pretty quick.

I might be a nervous wreck, but when I have experts working on my house or anything else, I try to not even be in the room. They do NOT need me hovering around them being visibly worried. They know what they're doing. Just let them get on with it. Whenever I think of "German engineering" I think of the old VW bus from the 1960s, most of which needed aftermarket accessories like oil radiators just to keep on working.

As a 3rd generation home builder in Jupiter Florida we have had clients 10x worse than Rico ever could, clients we’ve seen once or twice onsite and everything in between. It’s a big investment and a big moment in the process. I’d be an onsite pain in the ass myself, but believe me project managers are use to it and get compensated well for it.

Because of the stairs, they did not have the 2nd hatch to work the pulley installation as they did on the 1st generator. Good call I think to add the plywood slide for the 2nd generator. As the owner and financier, good judgement to watch these critical lifts !
