Man fantastic result. He showed so much character to come back from losing the first round and stay strong and play fantastic chess throughout. He did everything from very attacking games to long, accurate, Magnus-style grinds like the last round. Such a great tournament. I was really rooting for Fabi, but am delighted that Vidit won. Really worthy winner and it’s fabulous to have the Indian players breaking through to the candidates. Happy Diwali dude. Richly deserved success.

Congrats Vidit! I hope this will be a breakthrough moment in his career. He has been 2700 Rated for a long time and it just shocks me that he don't get invitations to big tournament. Today in his interview he mentioned this problem. That has been a major roadblock in his career. I guess some elite tournament organizer might be reading this comment and I would recommend them to give him the invitations to their tournament, This will not only bring the dynamics in the tournament but please be aware of the kind of Indian audience Vidit can bring. All the Best Vidit.

@@hosiahjones I was just telling you what is actually the ranking in terms of elo rating. I don't know which made up rating system you are using for the ranks. And being down in rank is not an insult. He just was in a bad form and now he is in a good form and hence his rating is improving. And whoever is in the 2nd deserves to be there because they were in good form. What you feel as the rankings are does not matter. I am a huge fan of Vidit and been following all his content and matches more than you as I am actually a casual chess tournament player. But being a fan does not make me delusional or illogical. And there is no such thing as real indian rankings.

@@morgoth8815 One moment Gukesh was 2750 and now he is barely above 2700 and now Gukesh is Indian #5. Let me repeat. One single moment in time is not relevant. Vidit has proved Indian #2 for a very long time, and listen to this son, unless and until the teenagers clearly and significantly surpass him for an extended period of time, Vidit will claim and retain his rightful throne as Indian #2. This will continue to be the truth for a long time. You do not anoint rookies to the top. Rookies have to earn it. Stop making excuses for rookies. Honor the man who has proven strength and valor over a long period of time. 👑👑👑 #1 Vishy #2 Vidit #3 teenage rookies
