Finally a new Vidya Obscura vid!! Great review, and nice easter eggs with the revised nearly arcade-perfect version, had no idea :)

I enjoy hearing your thoughts on a console that you don't have much familiarity with. I'm a big PCE fan and have had a PC Engine Duo-R for over 10 years. If I didn't get it back then, I certainly wouldn't try nowadays!

Great to see more stuff from you especially in these isolating times. That PC Engine Mini is giving me PS5/toilet seat vibes though I doubt Sony will go with that for a final design. I first became aware of Turbo Grafix 16 through the Wii's VC though I didn't buy any of those games. Definitely missing out, at least most digital releases/collections on console for these older games are smart enough to include the Japanese and the least censored English version (so we got Bloodlines in the Castlevania collection, not our European one). Ys 1 and 2 probably have my curiosity the most from the ones you mentioned. Caravan Mode is something more games really need. I actually play demos of games I have because the demo has a deliberately designed replayable part which is fit for a short burst or competition.

Great stuff! It might be a noob question but does it contain a english translation of Snatcher? If not will it be english on the turbogrfx or Core?

No English version of Snatcher on PC Engine or any of the other consoles, unfortunately. The game is designed in a way so there is no subtitles or any text to accompany any of the spoken dialogue in the game, so it's not an easy task to translate. You'd either have to record new dialogue audio files or hack the game to have subtitles somewhere. I don't think hackers can use the dialogue audio from the Mega CD version either, since timing is completely different from Japanese to English and since I *think* there are extra scenes in the PC Engine CD version.

@@Darkbeatdk There are actually less scenes in the PCE version. That whole intro with Gillian and Jamie was added in the Sega CD version, and I think they expanded the ending a bit.

Narmy Hiiragi I had no idea. Should have noticed when I played the intro. Thanks for the heads up.
