I remember giving my opinion on this in law school. It seems to me that the accused had three other choices instead on murdering Whetmore. 1.) They could of just removed extra body parts from him to consume that would have allowed him to live. His arms, legs, and buttocks looked delicious and he would have probably (maybe?) still have lived, and 2.) each of the explorers could have simply sacrificed one of their own limbs and committed auto-cannibalism, and 3.) one of those selfish bastards could have just committed suicide for the benefit of the others and no murder would have been committed. They should all be sentenced to DEATH because they all had other choices than to murder Whetmore. Murderous Bastards!!!!

For me they are guilty because they included and killed someone who opted out. Otherwise i will support the view of not guilty had they killed the person who opted in :)

critically, Whetmore pulled out before ANY dice had been rolled. This wasn't made entirely clear here, and could change some people's perspective on the outcome.

Incredibly interesting right up until the point the (up till then excellent presenter) calls Critical Race Conspiracists "an interesting perspective". Unbelievably vacuous
