Keep in mind, this is supposed to be played across a massive romantic orchestra and fill a concert hall. "Aggressive"-sounding articulation will sound clear and strong at the back of a hall, while "soloistic", softer tonguing will sound washy and get lost. That's what Hans Peter Schuh is trying to say. Needless to say, I don't need to prove his skill, just listen to him in Vienna Philharmonic recordings.
Not a good masterclass, in my opinion. Watch Zander's. Much better.

Yes, it's Hans Peter Schuh. He's a professor and principel trumpet of the Vienna Philharmonic... But I would prefer the student as principel trumpet xD

Such a beautiful trumpeter terrorized by an incompetent man. I am surprised that he is not able to understand it himself and not participate in such events.
