one of the most underrated games ever. this game was made with the help of real vietnam veterans. on top of that they somehow manage to make soldiers and traps be almost invisible in the jungle , keep in mind these are graphics from 20 years ago. y ou had to train your eye for this game and you will. after a while ppl and traps will become more easyly to notice. just like real life. truly an amezing piece of art.

And truth to be told, the creator of this peace was very unhappy about the sound, as the recording was created in a huge haste. His vision was quite different, but the right instruments and recording equipment were unavailable. But when he was trying to fix it later and stick to his original idea, he was told that the new version is so much worse and the rawness of the first recording is the best. It's interesting, that things like that happen quite often in music industry.

This game had a sense, you know? It transmitted to me a special feeling, like I was an US soldier, and i was in Vietnam, I met the jungle, the rat tunnels, the rivers, the problems that US had, how soldiers lived and died. I med the fear and the hate. I dont know how describe Vietcong game, seriously it's an amazing game, probably the war game with the better history. Never played another FPS like this one.

It must be Davis - Sunset Fine hahaha. You know, the only Vietcong game I've ever played was the Purple Haze for PS2... I wish I could play the Fist Alpha or Red Dawn, but my pc is too slow for them. Anyway, you said that Vietcong had initiated your love for 'nam garage rock. I've been playing the intro riff for years and years (started playing guitar and becoming obsessed with Jimi about 20 years ago now). That intro riff is fantastic and really does capture Jimi's sound and style from '69-'70... Until now I didn't recall there being more to the song. I swore the "intro" was the whole song but short and just looped in the title screen... Anyways it's a cool song and does an excellent job at capturing Jimi and the end of the 60's. I personally think it sounds even better with a photo cell univibe and Stratocaster 😎

I bought this game when it came out, I was about 16, I played it alot. At the same time I got the film Platoon on DVD, I watched that alot. It was also summer and it was very hot, I was also smoking weed back then... alot. All those things complemented each other very well 😁 what a memorable time. My young and impressionable mind was very much in the Vietnam war for a good few months.

Let's not forget about Hidden & Dangerous. Two brilliant tactical military shooters by Illusion Softworks, the creators of the first two Mafia games. Sadly they never got around to create Enemy on Sight, a modern day military shooter. Guess the publisher was more interested in Mafia 2 (which sucked compared to Mafia 1).

I didn't even know what ping was but still owning haha ... Wasted so much time on waterfall ctf hardcore mode. I was 12-13 too and that was 9 years ago. I've just remembered people saying 'no cheat' to me. I didn't know any English back then, I thought it meant 'no chatting'. So I'd be like 'ok' and say nothing for the rest of the game. I wasn't cheating on a side note, I didn't even know it was possible. I'm ashamed to say this but my nickname was LEGEND SOLDİER. Yes, with a capital 'i' damn those onion ninjas

Such a great game for its time and the Czech guys that made it deserves so much more credit than they ever got. They made a masterpiece and the same goes to Rude Kostry who made this AWESOME music. If i or anyone else find them then buy them a beer for gods sake! Its least you can do. Remember that there was no EA games involved here, hence the fine piece of art.
