Great interview. I could visualize it all, Wally is a talented story teller. I was in 1st Tanks during the same time period (A 34). The part about coming home and the big awakening I relate to. Welcome home Wally.

Wally , what a story. A lot of combat , good friends and death all said then end up with ptsd . I sure am glad you found that wife of yours , shes a keeper,!! Thank you for your story telling and thank you Wally for your service . And you deserved that purple 💜. 💜

could hardly understand him for at least half of the interview. i am from australia but his southern accent was very heavy

David, I’m a Southerner as well and understood every word. For a comparison, I worked several years overseas with a mix of Europeans and Australians, and I struggled mightily to understand you blokes from down under. It’s all relative/subjective. I hope you enjoyed listening! Much of Southern culture is disappearing, the accent/vernacular along with the rest of it.

@@andrewcondrey9131 I just wanted you to that i wasnt at all being critical just found it hard to understand.Ithoroughly enjoyed the story. Me being an ex vet 1971 driving an APC it is always interesting listening to these stories and i stand in ore and respect for these vets as what they went through was horrendous times way way more than we did. Thanks mate

@@davidmunro-ford1423 cheers to Australia, everyone wants to think that Israel is the greatest ally the US has (a crook of shit) but in all reality it’s you aussies, from WW1 to Afghanistan you’ve been with us in every single major conflict, cheers from Tennessee.
