Hey Travis, great step by step eVisa application process. It really helped me for my last trip. A tip for your viewers; When answering the question “Intended temporary residential address in VN” my application got rejected because I only entered the Name of the Hotel in Da Nang. They wanted the full address of where you’re going to be staying at. It may depend on who’s approving your application but I would not take any chances of just entering the general area or name of hotel only. Lots of hassle and time consuming after your application is rejected. Don’t make the mistake I did.

Travis thanks for all your info. The last time I applied for a visa I could not pay with 4 separate Visa cards for over a week. I used my friend's master card and no problem first time. I just wanted to let people know that if you're having problems you are not alone. Thanks for all you recommendations, especially the food in Danang. I took my first trip to Vietnam last February and can't wait to get out of Thailand and get back there. on October 4th my family off for a two week trip to Ninh Binh, Cat Ba and then Cao Bang for the last week. I am also back in Danang over new years and then back to Danang for a few months starting in February. I am so impressed with Vietnam and would love to trade my Thailand retirement to Vietnam. I could not pay for the tourist visa application over several days with two credit cards. The most annoying thing was that if your payment fails you have to make a brand new application. I had to apply for two people we just gave up and went to Thailand instead. The visa process in Vietnam is truly the most incompetent

It took six business days to get my visa approved so they really do uphold the 3 day turn around time :)

We're entering on a Mekong cruise so I entered the boat name as the first location in VN, along with the district for the first stop. Be sure about your port of entry, you indicated Da Nang, but there are very few direct flights to Da Nang from outside the country. Most flights to smaller airports in Vietnam go via City hubs, so you go through immigration at the first landing point, not your final destination.

Keep up the great work. Coming to Vietnam Thursday 9/26. Maybe you can do a video on going through the airport or tips on dealing with the long flgith? I've been reading about Saigon airport and some people say they have to give a little to get through faster but maybe only if you are viet? Also a good idea to check all the info on the evisa when it's approved, which you should carry as a paper copy with you. I didn't notice my date of birth was wrong on my evisa, their mistake, I'm pretty sure I had it right. It wasn't noticed by the airline I flew in with or immigration. But when I left Thailand after a week away AirAsia at Bangkok noticed it didn't match my passport and said I couldn't fly as is! But they phoned Vietnam Immgration and got it ok'd. So that was a bit stressy!

If you used your old photo and the immigration officers realised it is the same old picture, you did not send a recent photo as specified. Australia has certain technical specifications, so I have mine taken in an Australian Post Office to ensure the picture complies. A phone picture may not be acceptable, just as a home printed photo may not comply.

Last year I was denied for mistakes, corrected them, resubmitted and denied again. Everything was fine, I made no changes, and resubmitted again. It was accepted. Comb through and make sure everything is ok and just keep sending the same one. If it’s the pictures then retake and resubmitt

They don't accept same photo as passport, they want a different photo but should be similar. All of the issues about percentage matching, etc. I havn't actually heard of anyone getting denied for that. I agree its a pain in the ass. My visa agent will do the application for you for $15. Hi Travis, great instructive video! Could you also describe the process when landing at a Vietnam Airport. Do you have to go to the Immigration counter, fill out further form/s and provide additional photos and pay again or, line up in the passport checking lines with a copy of the eVisa approval in your passport. My previous experience when arriving at Ho Chi Min Airport, after getting eVisa approval, was having to go through the stressful process of the additional forms and payment.

Is it necessary to put the information when there‘s no red star on it?

Some things like travel insurance won't have a star, but might get rejected if you don't fill it out. You should fill out everything possible except for tour agency information assuming you are not with any tour group
