On Vietnam's National Web Portal on Immigration, I can see that E-Visas are "valid" for a MAXIMUM of 90 days. Does this mean that I can get an e-Visa that will allow me to stay in the country for 90 days, or will I have to do a visa run 30 days after I first entered the country?

There is no limit. Entry acceptance is based on the immigration officer's discretion, as the IO will. determine whether the purpose of entry is tourism.

So Ken, what you are saying is that a plane flight will take longer to get your new visa or legal status.?

A visa run takes about 2-3 days to apply for a new visa outside Vietnam either by plane or van, getting a new visa sticker. A border run does not require to submit a visa application. It can be done by just crossing the border by road, rail, or air and come right back

This is so stupid. They are all border runs, just some people need a new visa and some don't. This guy just makes things more confusing. PS actual expatriates don't need to do all this nonsense. You're speaking to back packers, migrant workers and other vagabonds...
