Of course. His sounds in "cám ơn" and "xin lối" are southern dialect.Northern dialect pronunciation would be "cảm ơn" and "xin lỗi".Southerners will have a hard time pronouncing words with the ~ sign.They will convert the ~ sign to a ?or mark /."lỗi" will be read as "lổi" or "lối".In the word "thank you" he also pronounced "cám ơn"."cảm" in Vietnamese means feeling, feeling.It is an adjective.And "cám" will mean pig bran and chicken bran.That would be a noun.Of course, those errors in pronunciation are still understood by Northerners in the correct meaning of the words they said.

Hãy giúp tôi! I think Rosetta Stone mispronounces the hỏi tone mark. They make it sound similar to a huyền mark. Is this acceptable? Perhaps a way to more quickly speak while still being understood? Or is Rosetta Stone inaccurate?

Hi! I’d say that you’ll still be understood or at least Vietnamese people will try to understand the mispronunciation of yours as you’re a foreigner learning our language, but it definitely causes confusion. The hỏi tone and the huyền tone are nothing similar in sound, and you may have known the fact that the tones differentiate the words, it can change a word’s meaning just by that little mark above the vowel, it’s not a way to speak faster after all. Mình lại nghe ra là bạn phát âm thành xin Lối đấy, mặc dù bạn viết là xin lỗi. Hay nói cho đúng hơn là dẫu ~ bạn phát âm chưa rõ ràng. Mình phải nghe lại 4 lần mới thấy đc 1 chút dấu ~ trong câu xin lỗi của bạn

Actually “Thank you” in Vietnamese is “Cảm ơn” not “Cám ơn” (both are right but “Cảm ơn” is more popular)
