You should try com tam (broken rice, usually comes with pork...douse it all with fish sauce before eating), bun bo Hue, banh xeo, banh khot, banh cuon, bun rieu, bo ne, bo kho, mi quang (especially if you're in Da Nang), cao lau (best in Hoi An), bun cha (if you get back to Hanoi), anything that has lemongrass in it, anything that requires wrapping in greens, herbs, protein and dipped, etc. :) If you get to Saigon, try the goat (I saw The Nguyen Family eat it this past week and her hubby who is white and never had goat loved it). Also, try to find the seafood street that serves snails in coconut sauce and scallops topped with scallion oil and peanuts. If you like seafood, you'll LOVE this type of food.

When I was growing up..my best friend for like 3 years was from Vietnam. Her parents couldn't speak like any English at all. They always had rice in their house. They had a rice cooker. And her mom used to cook such good food. I wish I would've tried more but back then I was a kid and picky kinda. So I would only eat the rice and the meat but the sauce she cooked the meat in omg it was to die for! I never would eat the veggies and stuff tho. I wish I could get some of her food now that I'm older and will eat more things than I would then.

I have dated a lot of different Asian girls here in America. I started thinking the rice cooker came with their homes. It was always the same brand. The one with the elephant on it I think. Most of their parents had pretty broken English but I could kind of understand them. They always seem to have something cooking. And they will force you to eat until you are about to explode. But it was so good.

Pate and bo (butter/mayo) and sometime veggie is my favorite go to snack when i dont want my banh mi to be heavy. Forgot to add... there's a che (Vietnamese dessert) spot pretty close by where you're at. It's on the other side of the river and it's supposedly pretty famous there too. So if youre ever in the mood for some sweets dessert, i would recommend looking it up if you have time.

I always feel confident seeing a foreigner trying foods in my hometown Da Nang. The best in Viet Nam for sure. Since you tried my favourite bún thịt nướng (remember: don't try bún thịt nướng anywhere else outside Đà Nẵng), you may want to try mì quảng (again, just try it when you're in Quảng Nam or Đà Nẵng), bún mắm thịt quay (Central Vietnam style of bún mắm, not Southern), bún chả cá (a Đà Nẵng's dish, not bún chả from Hà Nội), bánh canh ("bánh canh bột lọc" may be better than "bánh canh bột gạo"; Huế city has the best bánh canh, but Đà Nẵng's is still good). Some recommendations for you buddy. Then head to Hội An and experience the unique cuisine there, such as cao lầu (don't eat cao lầu in Đà Nẵng; the only true cao lầu only exist in Hội An).

let's go on vacation to Indonesia, there are many tourist attractions in each region.. and each region has a culture and tradition that is different from other regions ... and each region has its own regional language and food that is unique to its region If you go to Indonesia, don't forget the food, but remember to be careful, Indonesian food tastes spicy. there are holidays to Indonesia; Riau-Kepri and Batam are close to Singapore. Riau-Kepri and Batam have a culture like Malaysia and Singapore, namely Malay culture. There is the Borobudur Temple in Central Java and the Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta. the peak of bogor and the Indonesian Safari park in bogor. Mount Tangkuban Parahu, White Crater and Saung Angklung, a bamboo musical instrument in Bandung. Raja Ampat in Papua. Lombok, Gili Trawangan, Lake Kelimutu, Mount Rinjani and Komodo Island, there are ancient animals, namely the Komodo dragon itself in NTT Ijen Crater and Mount Bromo in East Java. Thousand Islands, Angel Island in Jakarta Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi Bunaken marine park and lake toba in North Sulawesi Nusa Dua and Nusa Penida in Bali Sianok canyon in West Sumatra tana toraja in South Sulawesi and many more, among others Derawan Island, Maratua Island, Weh Island, Karimunjawa, Jomblang Cave, Sumba and Tangkahan Eco Park..

Their shellfish and scallops are also delicious but I think you ate those at Vinpearl already. Banh da cua (flat noodles in thick broth with crab meat). You're near Hue so try their banh la or banh nam. Squid porridge (sold right outside of schools to students so they're dirt cheap).

Vietnamese noodles are very similar to Italian noodles, they have their own names, not the dishes but the shapes of the rice noodles. LOL Eg ....... -BROADEST FLAT noodles: Phở, shall they be soup, dry mixed, stir fried . Reserves only for Phở -MEDIUM FLAT noodles: Also use for Phở, When we talk about Phở it's usually beef or chicken stock. -SMALL FLAT noodles: Hủ Tíu, also can be soup, dry mixed, stir fried, but always with pork and pork stock, rarely beef ...... Hủ Tíu + the types of the dish or the name of the region, as many regions have their own Hủ Tíu -LARGEST ROUND noodles, similar to Japanese Udon: Bánh Canh, variety of dishes just use Bánh Canh + the types of the dish -MEDIUM ROUND noodles: From here we can call it Bánh Canh or Bún depends on the dish. There are 2, the Northern soup call Canh Bún (crab noodle), The Central soup call Bún Bò Huế (beef and pork hock noodles) -SMALL ROUND noodles: Bún always and always call Bún, no matter what the dishes, just start with Bún + the types of the dish .....Other noodles are very limited, but Bún allows you a million dishes Above are rice noodles, if it's wheat /egg noodles they call it Mì. Although there are names for different types of wheat/egg noodles, Vietnamese are not particular about the names, they just call Mì + the types of the dish . Anything in short shapes/forms they call it "Nui" Vs the Italian they have a million names for Nui ....There are rice and wheat "Nui" -Glass noodles: Miến -Shredded vegetables like green papaya or mango, they are salad mix: Gỏi Hope this will give you a mental picture next time you see the dishes they sell

I want to see you eat $50 worth of food and explode on the spot :-) Just kidding. Glad you had a good time eating there. One of the many many things I really miss about VN is the atmosphere of the eating experience. The small eateries that are owned by the family and not a franchise. Each place looks and feels different. The customers are talking and enjoying the meal without have to talk in hush hush tone. Kids really enjoying themselves. The smell of food from the cooking instead of the sterile air conditioned nothingness. Throw in the delicious and freshly cooked food at great price and I hope VN will continue to maintain that type of eating experience into the future.

Don’t expect a foreigner to know everything about your food. They travel to experience new cultures, not to be corrected all the time.

5:54, 6:55 I don't expect foreigners to know all about the food of the country they visit but if you're going to review food and put content out there, then learn, do some due diligence and look at the sign of the food stall you're visiting. Part of experiencing a new culture is also learning what things are actually called. Perception is if that person perceives it as being "corrected all the time" or "learning the actual name of the food.". I'm telling this KZbinr what it's called and his response was to tell me to pay attention. I did and I'm giving him a tip, so I ask that he pay attention too.

@@Swtlife7662 Just relax and don't be so judgemental. You yourself are wrong as well when you think that banh trang nuong is "traditional" Vietnamese street food. It's only been around for a few years. Many Vietnamese call banh trang nuong Vietnamese pizza, but nobody has ever said anything about that even though pizza isn't made using rice paper. Also, it's funny how we call banh xeo Vietnamese pancake while it's more like a crepe.

@@kimnguyen6825 I think you're doing a lot of deflecting. My sentence doesn't indicate anywhere that I think banh trang nuong is traditional Vietnamese street food, I'm simply telling bro it's not a tortilla and it's called a banh trang nuong. I didn't think telling someone what the actual name of a food is, is now called being "judgemental" and "not relaxed". 🥴

Ok so at like 5 minutes in..your at a stand that has fruits and stuff..there's watermelon and big orange things beside it..are those carrots?! They look like them but I've never seen carrots so big in my whole life! Gosh this food looks so good! I'm so jealous. I dont get it tho..how does their food not go bad? Cuz it looks like its sitting out not being chilled or anything. That pork skewer looked amazing! I bet the flavor was delicious.
