Picture it. Warren, Ohio,1976. My sister just graduated from high school. Dad bought her a 1963 Ford Galaxie. She would load up the car with us younger kids and our friends and go out to the lake. This song plays on the AM radio. Until I met my wife many years later, it was probably the happiest moment of my life. This is my favorite song of all time. When my time comes to an end, I can guarantee that this song will be played at my funeral. Very loud.

Boz Scaggs was so class that he showed up to personally deliver the first big royalty check of this album in person to the drummer (Jeff Porcaro). Homie drove to his house and hand-delivered their check out of gratitude. Boz is a good a person as he is a musician.

It is a masterpiece. I always thought this was a "black" group until I became an adult. Goes to show it doesn't matter how much melanin you have, soul is soul and the groove is the groove. Silk Degrees is one of the greatest standards album wise of my youth. I will never tire of it. The whole "Silk Degrees" album is great. Remember when it came out in 1976. It has a bluesy sound to it. Two of the most famous songs from that album are "Lowdown" & "Lido Shuffle". Some other songs are "It's Over", "What Can I Say", "We're All Alone", "Harbor Lights" & "Jump Street".

The GREATEST DECADE IN MUSIC IS =THE 70's! 👍👍 I'm so glad to see young people discovering this music which I and other baby boomers enjoyed as kids-teens-young adults. Boz is a classic example of the quality and excellence of how music did and should sound like. Steely Dan, whom you have covered, is another like kind band. The range of music that bands of the late 60's and thru the 70's was masterful. Greatest DECADE!

Steely Dan was my first high school experience (73-76) and I loved them the moment I heard them, and it made me very picky as a music listener. Then I heard Boz Scaggs, and Fleetwood Mac, and I followed their path of sound. My Grandparent's played Traditional Slavic music as musicians, which is very unique sounds so I was prepped since birth. My Parents were from the Big Band (and opera) and in high school my oldest sister was a singer and married a classical 12-string guitarist from Spain in their band in Spain. I didn't know how blessed I was in the 1970s with this foundation of expansive music, good for the body and soul. I couldn't stand the cheap pop or he man music of the 1980s and had to wait until the 1990s music to enjoy the sounds, rhythm, and atmosphere again.

Gentlemen, I am so glad I found your channel. Y’all crack me up! This tune is incredible, but I’ve been a Boz fan for awhile. I was 11 years old and can remember this coming on my transistor radio while I was fishing at El Dorado lake in California. That’s a long time ago, my friends. Good music stands the rest of time and I really got a kick out of watching y’all react to this kick ass tune. Rock on! 🤘😎✌️

In 1976, back when I was 24yrs.old, there was so much good music on the radio back then i didn't have time to appreciate this song until now. I love this song now than I did back then. Thanks, guys for reminding me of forgotten songs I don't hear anymore.
