Definitely alot better with the baffles in.I removed my baffles on my S&S race only slip on's & it sounded awesome but after 40-45mins gets annoying.With earplugs in might of been ok,I didn't use ear plugs as I only got 15% hearing in my right ear & ear plugs I tried kep't falling out. In the end I put the baffles back in & it was sweet no ear plugs. It sure did sound meaty without the baffles & mate said HE could hear me coming from a block away & he owned a HD Fatbob.

@sscbkr48 Жыл бұрын
To suggest others are being negative for giving an opinion that you might not agree with is wrong. Feedback (for or against) if sincere and respectful should be encouraged. It's called being honest! Just sayin..

@johnbucholtz8044 People can make still negative comments whilst sharing an opinion, they are not mutually exclusive. Sincere and respectful is indeed the key, Sadly some people chose to be personal or abusive. I'm all for honesty and differing opinions.

I think you’ll find that the increase in subjective loudness only increases by a factor of 23%. It’s the energy level which doubles.
@andrewgibbs5135 Жыл бұрын
@@user-rf9me7xm1w Yes, it’s an electrical rather than an acoustic term but one my College lecturer used frequently (a long time ago 👴🏻) to cut the chit chat during lectures 😉.
@user-rf9me7xm1w Жыл бұрын
@@andrewgibbs5135 Yes, you’re quite right Andrew, voltage and power decibel ratios are indeed different. The quantification of perceived loudness is very complicated The “inverse square law” even comes into play regarding how far away the listener is located. Your lecturer will be impressed that you remembered !
@l3eatalphal3eatalpha Жыл бұрын
It is 6(.02)dB for doubling of SPL: SPL = 20*Log(10) (RMS/Reference) So 30dB is 6dBx5 = 2^5 = 32 times larger. That's a huge difference anyway, but may differ if measured 1m on-axis as you would get more high freq, possibly higher even. If it doubled with 3dB that would be (3 x 10) -> 2^10 = 1024 times greater level. Ouch. As far as perception, it is about 10dB that people perceive it to be twice as loud, but 10dBx3 = 2^3 = 8 times 'louder' is still significant.

Whilst I absolutely agree with the general consensus of "it's your bike", I personally much preferred the tone and bark to the original unbaffled exhaust. Whilst obviously the noise is high, you should always be using ear plugs anyways, irrelevant of how loud the bike is. The baffled version makes it sound raspy and tinny to me. But, hey, don't give a fuck about my opinion, I don't care about others either, now I shall be saving up to order a new exhaust for my Sprint 1050 after many threats from friends about if I het rid of the triple exhaust

Thankfully I do always wear custom moulded earplugs. At least now I have the option to run with or without the baffles.

131Db is what you will get without any silencers, installing these exhausts is just for looks. With the DB baffle in are they within the legal limit? Publishing KZbin videos open the door for comments good or bad, it's something you created. Go for the negative comments you will get more viewers. Merry Christmas Tony

Puzzles me too why people get bent out of shape & vocal about stuff that you do to your own bike ! I like the sound but not the looks but it wouldn't do for us all to like the same , I went with the S&S with baffles in , like the shape and love the rumble and they've got a lovely bark if you blip the throttle while filtering to let people know you're there ! I bought the Interceptor with a view to making it personal to me and if you don't like what I've done tough titty ! 😄......bet those cyclist were 3 abreast within 100 yds ! 🤔
@mancavemoto Жыл бұрын
Indeed, I see stuff on KZbin I don't like and I think 'nope not for me' andf move on. I don't feel the need to tell the person making the video. But still its all engagement, which is good for the channel 👍 The S&S do look great, and i'm not sure if these will be the long term solution, i'll wait and see how it looks after a few more modifications. haha, they were causing chaos at that junction bless em (well for me and one other car anyway)
