I assume it's some form of etiquette thing from when he was alive. He will have just learned certain mannerisms for behaving in whatever social settings he found himself in that caused him to meet Mimzy. Since his time in hell there have been no consistent social norms, so now he's more himself, but he still interacts with Mimzy the way he's used to. Kinda like how many real people behave differently around friends as they do around family. No idea if any of this is accurate, but that's what makes sense to me.

I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him

And he knows he cant control Lucifer. Not in power or through fear. So he pokes at Lucifer's one insecurity because it's all he can do. XD

you have to remember Alastors entire existence is POWER based and he likes to be the biggest in the room and hates when he's not you kind of see it with Episode three when the other Overlords don't really care where he was he kinda gets annoyed. He knows very well he can't rival Lucifers power he would wipe the floor with him so what other options does he have? HIS CONNECTION WITH CHARLIE he knows their relationship is strained so what better way to flex on Lucifer than "taking" his role by implying "I was here when you weren't" and it clearly works because Lucifer gets really jealous though with "More than anything" Lucifer pulls it completely back but he's being honest where as Alastor was trying to get a rise out of him and assert dominance.

I sort of had the same thought and if Lucifer & Lilith split up makes it all that more logical if Lilith is like "I want to help my daughter but at the same time I don’t ever want to set eyes on my ex husband ever again" it would make sense she’d send Alastor to do that for her making an exchange of power to allow him to help Charlie and protect her by any means necessary. Husk kicked the hornets nest there foolish as he was to make a deal with Alastor and of course Alastors overlord pride was bruised being reminded he’s in the same boat as husk angry enough to give death threats.

People that thinks Alastor has the best interests for Charlie are failing to see th obvios: Lilith is all about empowering demons. She fled Eden and is probably fiercely agaisnt Heaven, so to her, the notion of "getting Demons to redeem and go to Heaven" is bs. She probably wants Alastor to make sure Charlie's plan fails, and so, knowing that Lucifer can get behind Charlie's plan, an knowing that Lucifer is much more powerful than any other demon, Alastor included, that explains why Alastor is acting so uncharacteristically defensive in this episode. Also, I would not trust no Overlord. He may be seeking to make a deal with Charlie so that he can trade Charlie's soul with Lilith in exchange for his own.

Husker said he's on a leash, Lilith and Alistor have both been gone for 7 years, Alistor conveniently shows up on the day of the Hotel's grand opening and offers to help. I think Lilith sent him to protect Charlie in her misguided endeavor cause she knows she's putting herself in harm's way.
