21:50 man, we all worried about Nifty being near Valentino, but need we forget; Alastor enlisted her services at the Hotel personally. If she’s nimble and menacing enough for his standards, it’s no surprise Valentino couldn’t keep tabs on her. They probably had nothing to actually worry about with her, but it’s still really sweet that Angel/Anthony stood up for her and himself against Valentino. Husk and Charlie really made an impact on him.

Side note their a theory that nifty use to be an overlord. In the pilot when they're talking about taking down there's a flash of all the overlords that were around there's two that were two blacked out in the shape of nifty and husk. Husk ends up once being an overlord why not nifty

11:29 I talked to my friend about this “reveal” late last night, (I put reveal in quotes, because with her primarily monochrome color palette compared to the rest of the cast, I always believed Vaggie was “an Angel in disguise”). I told them that it bugged me-despite Vaggie being so adept with a spear-why was her hair so long? It’s a small thing, but I say this because usually people in the military or similar positions need to have as short hair as possible, or at least out of the way of their eyes right? But I think Vaggie grew out her hair, because it’s a coping mechanism to still feel comfortable like when she still had her angel wings. Her hair seems to be almost as long as them too. Also explains why she liked going up to the ship near the top of the Hotel. She probably misses flying, so being able to go up there is the best substitute. 🥺

So… As someone in the military, I can tell you that… Sometimes, we take our freedoms where we can. We have to be shaved (or at least presentable), but when we can we do little things to rebel. Like growing an unkempt beard until we get back into work. Or growing your hair past regulations until you have to get back in the office. You know, little personal rebellions to keep our spirits up.

I love how Zelestial, Carmilla and Seraphim are all the old order that kept hell and heaven in a deadlock for so long, and then we’ve the Vees & Lute who’re trying to break said deadlock. Velvet and Lute particularly, both cut off Carmilla and Seraphim in their respective songs. The instrumentation and genre of both songs change drastically when they both cut in. Velvet’s part in “Respectless” is accompanied by many elements from modern pop songs, as opposed to the Spanish Flamenco Guitar Carmilla’s part started off with. Seraphim’s replies to Emily and Charlie’s plight were accompanied by strings and piano for a really light hearted ballad, but then Lute interrupted them trying to stoke the flames of war, bashing Angel’s progress, all while accompanied by the electric guitar. It’s so tragic cuz the next extermination is clearly coming, and the Vees and Adam & Lute are gonna get so many killed, even on both sides since we heard from Velvet that Vox and Val were thinking up contingencies to strike back against the exorcists. But if two characters like Carmilla and Seraphim just TALKED to each other how neither of them even want this mass destruction or to endanger their families, maybe they could prevent the pending bloodbath.

I think Adam is so adamant on seeing he’ll be punished because Lilith stood up to him for Lucifer. Also if the extermination is gone then nobody would pay attention to him. You can clearly see he craves attention for those who he think is weaker

I just want to talk about the revelation of Vaggie’s secret and Charlie knowing now. Honestly I think with Vaggies’ secret being revealed to Charlie, I really don’t think she is going to forgive her right away. I know the writers depicted Charlie as an upbeat and outgoing character, but I think it’d be better if she doesn’t forgive Vaggie right away cause it’ll add a lot more depth to her character considering the person she fell in love hid this dark secret from her. I think it’ll add a whole new level to her and Vaggie’s characters and it will make the aftermath of Vaggie’s secret that much heavier and thrilling.

My guess is Adam is not wearing a mask, and he was actually destined for hell. For whatever reason Heaven wants to hide that and instead got him to heaven after his body was turned into that of a sinner.

Well an interesting idea we know that any any entity that enters hell or heaven becomes more demonic or angelic in nature, you can see this with Vaggie in the scene showing her as a Angel without her mask versus her current form. This is goes for everyone Demons (Sinners and Hellborn) and Angels (Winners and Heavenborn) so if Adam deservs hell he would still look angelic under his mask. In fact a lot of the background angels are just like Hellhounds or Goetia but angelic, so much so that I wonder if it's a coincidence or they have some connection.

@@Gaterman That depends, from what we know now, Vaggie was never a human, she's a angel (born in heaven as humans don't "become" angels, they become the heaven equivalent of sinners) Virtuous souls? Pure souls? we have not heard a term for it atm. So anything from Vaggie that looks different from human sinners and pure souls is likely due to being angelic rather than the metamorphosis you undergo when entering Heaven or Hell. While Pure human souls do gain wings and halo's here, its still prudent to make the distinction between them and angels. While I have no proof for this theory, my guess is those you see with extra wings (more then the two on the back) are Angels, based on their biblical counterparts. (maybe also some that have lion heads or multiple faces) And like Sera and Emi they have the ability to appear more human at will. The others are likely the human souls. If Hell twists your image to a parody of how you lived and died, Heaven likely reshapes you in your "ideal" form and your virtue's you had in life. So you won't necessarily come out looking completely human anymore. Thats just my two cents though.

@@Gaterman Vaggie's look is attributed to her being a Angel though. She never was a human to begin with, but a Angel. Just like human sinners don't become Demons, virtuous souls don't become Angels. They are just born that way. Vaggie likely has no "true" form like Emi and Sera, but simply looks human like this by default. On the human souls, Hell distorts you based on how you lived and died. So Heaven likely does something similar, but in a good way (and like St. Peter said, making sure you are hot.) ATM I'm not sure how to differentiate between "pure" human souls and Angels. But my guess is those with more then two sets of wings/rings for heads (biblically inspired designs) are the most likely candidates. By that vein, either Adam looks hot and angelic under the mask. Or he was destined for hell, and that's not a mask but his actual face.

@@jefthereaperAdam... the angel... who was human... you may have forgotten about that when saying humans weren't angels. Also Sinners are repeatedly called demons, that's why the term hellborn was made to indicate the native species like Imps, hounds, etc from the humans. Vaggie's form didn't change drastically but it did change, well you can't see it very well in this video her eyes are golden even when Charlie patches her up but as we see they are white and red now showing the removal of her wings wasn't what caused the change, even Lucifer himself has red eyes unlike the blue and white of the Seraphim or any other angels. The fact is the offical cards call them the "Winners" and they're also angels just like the Sinners are demons but they're different from those who came from hell and heaven the Hellborn and Heavenborn (Heavenborn is not an official term but I am using it as a shorthand). The Exorcist are said to be Adam's female descendants which would explain why Vaggie uses uses Spanish occasionally as that was part of her human life. In addition you can spot Molly during the first song and she is a spider angel reminiscent of AngelDust her brother, showing the same logic that creats Sinners is used for the Winners. The show repeatedly uses lore from religious texture but not all of it is even from Christianity and some of it is completely made up, the fundamentals of what is a angel are not in completely in line with the show's and even things like God himself are currently in question because no one has referenced him as being important or around so you can't rely on it completely. Everything I've said comes from the creator herself Viv and unless she has changed her mind on these aspects (which should be always looked out for) they still hold true. Many of these details were known for years we just didn't have a lot to work with since heaven wasn't focused on in Helluva boss so until they're proven wrong it's best to stick too it.

With two episodes left for the season, I really hope they don't drag out the drama of Charlie learning about Vaggie's true identity cause as you guys said, Charlie's entire belief is that anyone can be forgiven and redeemed, I think Charlie might feel conflicted but I hope she doesn't get upset with Vaggie as that goes against her ideals and would make no sense to her character

23:59 Lute’s foul for making the claim Angel/Anthony wasted his chances while showing Charlie the memory of him shortly after he was assxxlted by Valentino in Episode 4 (you can tell by him wearing his pink bathrobe). I can’t stand people-or in this case, characters-being chastised for self-harm/destructive behaviors when they’re going through hell. Only reason Angel even resigns himself to those choices is because 2/3rds of most of his days are spent figuratively AND literally bending over backwards for his demented boss, and being harassed via texts and mail off the clock. It’s not a good choice to resort to alcohol or drugs, sure, but I don’t think it should label him as a bad person, much less irredeemable. It’s him coping with little to no security in his daily life, hardly any breaks. It’s his “normal” almost every day. Charlie’s blood was definitely boiling that Lute even entertained that memory of Angel as an argument. I DO really like Lute’s voice actress though, and her part in the song with the electric guitar and toms going in-it’s SOOOO GOOD!! 🤩

it's a cartoon, and it's not a 1 to 1 interpretation of the bible it's just based on abrahamic things. It's like complaining that Loki from Marvel isn't exactly as he's portrayed in the myths. If their world has no cartoon Jesus then that would mean souls can't use him to go to heaven so what would be the requirement to get into their heaven?

I'm sorry but the pacing of this show is just horrible. Angel stayed in the hotel for saving on rent, he never said anything about wanting to actually be a better person. Not during any of these epsiodes. And not anything about wanting to ascend to heaven. I like the show but it feels like a lot of story is just told and never shown. Epiaode 4 just gave him comradery with Husk but no other development.

A character has to openly say they want to be better in order for you to actually get the fact that they try to be better? Angel has tried to dodge Valentino constantly since the show started he was way less horny in episode 5 and in episode 2 he blew Serpentious cover if he only cared about the hotel as a place to rent then he wouldn't give a sh*t in exposing Serpentious. On top of that he calls him a "traitor" which meant Angel is by the side of the hotel about episode 4 he only got the friendship with Husk? What about the fact that he tried to shield Charlie from Valentino (in his own victim way) you just gonna glance over all that? Not the show fault you can not see changes in character behavior which is very ironic because I see people wanting more when they are barely able to get the plot and the character with "less' not to mention that this episode showed us how the hotel affected Angel life

Every single episode basically has had Angel growing. First he’s proud of the commercial he did for Charlie, then he feels left out when Sir Pentious is actually trying to be redeemed and Charlie doesn’t take him being there seriously, then he bonds with his friends while being decent enough to help pull everyone out of the battle, then he learns to not put himself on a pedestal and admit when he’s struggling and finds understanding with another person. Then it all culminates with Angel keeping Niffty out of trouble and defending his friends, all without even enjoying himself. Angel has become selfless over the course of the whole show, and all sins boil down to that, doing bad things because you only care about your own interests.
