That's because alot of directors are afraid that a certain name will outshine the movie. That is why Mark Hammil's acting career was pretty much over Star Wars, no one wanted to hire him, because he was too damn famous. He later found his footing as a voice actor, but he did struggle for awhie.
@Richard_Nickerson5 жыл бұрын
@@markotodorovic7013 No, that's really not the case here. Viggo is very picky about what he chooses to be in. He had initially turned down LotR. He didn't even own a phone back then. Not a cell phone, a landline. He only took the role of Aragorn because his son threatened to never speak to him again if he turned it down, being a fan of the books. Viggo was in a few things immediately following LotR. Hidalgo was pretty big when it came out. The Road is a good movie. And Mark Hamill may have been avoided since he was seen as Luke Skywalker, I can't speak for casting directors and producers in the 80s and 90s. But he pretty immediately found work in voice acting, not eventually, and he is all over the place with it. He's had an incredibly successful voice career, and still has a lot of voice work.

I love Harry Potter, Star Wars, Narnia, GoT, Pirates of the Caribbean... but these three movies about Middle-Earth are the most consistant movie-franchise of all time, and there is just something special about them. The best casting in cinematic history, plus the music and dialogue is pure magic! The Oscars aren't the same without LOTR sweeping the board 🙌

Filip Sjödin star wars was one of the best storyes ever In terms of originality , ease , fluent n etc Also best hollywood movie in terms of what a hollywood movie should be like ( not theater but what hollywood should be like ) Lotr is more proffesionally made true Better acting also . It s impecable , but more artificial then sw . Sw has more feeling Lotr is colder n not in cold as in feeling Just more empty Also lotr is based on mythology that has been around for hundreds of years Sw is a whole new universe Huge n vast n with way more posibilityes Sw is in a league of its own .

Every second of the Lord of the Rings is more precious than any other recorded piece of cinema for me. Even the visual effects that were done back then are better than what they could come up for the Hobbit. The color grading, the visual designs, the perfect choice of cast, immaculate direction and the most glorious score ever done for a motion picture by Howard Shore, they all add up to form these three precious movies that defines a masterpiece never to be achieved by another. If they do, it will be an imitation. All I need now is for Peter Jackson to restore the deleted scenes (even from the extended editions) like the young Aragorn and Arwen scene and many others to form a definitive version of the movies.

That's in part because the original material was something real on a level that no other author with or without an initialed name has produced since, and it may stand for years to come as the most powerful piece of literature produced. That the films could come together as they did feels like some kind of ordained event as well. It caught the dark forces in this world off guard so, it gave so much hope to people in the west that they said to themselves "now we need to hit back with something (911) to subjugate the masses and drive fear into their hearts once more". To me that's how powerful those films were.

Going back down memory lane to Lord of the Rings, is like going back to a house that was a lovely, beautiful colorful house you lived in years ago, that was full of loved ones, hustling and bustling, creating a happy din. Fifteen years later, the place is cold and deserted. Hallways are empty and everything has been quite for a long while now. 0:48 Why does Kimmel keep referring to LotR as "that movie"? Has he...has he never seen any of the films?! For shame, Jimmy...

Viggo is just a real life Aragorn. He seems to be exactly like that: honorable , keeping his word , calm , fearless , down to earth. The perfect husband . Just Aragorn. No one better for this role !

Man, I can't believe the first film is going to be 20 years old next year. I remember being 11 in that theatre completely immersed, unaware of how long the movie was and how full my bladder would be.

I love Viggo’s laugh when Jimmy brings out the picture - like he knows the crowd and the world STILL go crazy for everything and anything LOTR

I remember growing up in the 90s being jealous of my parents who got to see a trilogy like the original Star Wars at the cinema. Jealous of the fanfare, excitement and anticipation of all generations who saw it, whilst also enjoying its legacy in the subsequent years. December 2001 it was my turn to experience all of that.
