Rumors has it that Tolkien based some of his universe on Denmark, there's an island in Denmark called Hjelm and the sea that hugs the island is called Hjelms Dyb (Helms deep) not far from Isgård (Isengaard) just to name an example, so having a guy who's half part danish playing Aragorn makes me think you are absolutely right, not to mention that Viggo seems to be an uncrowned very humble king.

Id be more afraid of someone who is charming and intelligent. Kinda like Christoph Waltz. Christoph had what i call a _'malicious charm'_ to his character because it is intoxicating. charming, yet so very dangerous . him and Viggo have this aura of classy sophistication that are unlike any non-villan. James bond is classy, but his is more out of arrogance but that is how his character is supposed to be played.

@@MotraZotra LMAO, why are you so butthurt. He's speaking Arabic in this very video. In addition, speaking seven distinct languages, regardless of what they are, is a considerable achievement. Especially when they are not all romance languages. English, Arabic, Danish, and Catalan are all very different than the latin-based languages. Certainly he's by no means the only one who can do this, but it certainly does take a prodigious talent - especially when it's not his actual job

Okay, true story. Down here where I'm from, they filmed part of Captain Fantastic. Viggo was at our local co-op and a friend of mine who speaks fluent Elvish decided to approach him since they were both shopping there. So, my friend walks up to where Mr. Mortensen was speaking with some folks and signing autographs. He takes a deep breath and says in Sindarin "Man erin, Aragorn réd -o Arathorn, aran plural erain or erein -o Gondor", aka "Good morning, Aragorn son of Arathorn, high king of Gondor." Mr. Mortensen turns around grinning from ear to ear and says back "Man erin na cin, too, nin mellon."

A native speaker will surely find him out but really his accent is way better than "a Spaniard speaking French". My French is more fluent than his, still not perfect of course, but I find his accent rather amazing. I have Spanish/Catalan relatives and I speak Portuguese, so Spanish is not too far away. As far as I can tell, his Spanish accent is really good, which in itself is not so difficult as Spanish is a phonetic language. His English ... I let the audience judge. The folks of the north are usually pretty amazing at languages and accents in particular. His Danish is native and his Arab ... I can't tell.

If your mother tongue is English, you don’t need to learn anything else. The language is a tool for communication. It is a tool, nothing more or less. If you have the best tool for the job, you don’t need anything else. Learning languages as a hobby or challenge is another story. I study Italian now days. Beautiful and fun but totally useless outside of Italy therefore It is inferior as a communication tool compare to English. That is why it is a time killing for me, nothing more.

The key is to try, & don't be embarrassed at errors. After all, would you worry if a native speaker of another language found English difficult? Which it is, cray spelling, crazy pronunciation, grammar rules that are not consistent. I don't speak other languages but I do make the effort in any country I am in, to speak a bit - French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Hebrew, Welsh, as well as Irish/Gaelic.
