A few years ago I was having my annual skin check and the dermatologist told me in passing ‘you know you have vitiligo, right?’ and i had no idea. i knew i had a white spot but never thought about it. No doctor that has seen it has ever suggested nor offered a treatment. Recently it’s gone bananas and went from one spot at the base of my spine to all over my stomach, tops of my feet and mostly around my genitalia. It was sort of symmetrical but now is more on the left side. I still never thought about it until 2 months ago I started having thyroid issues. Last night I found a dry raised patch of skin in the middle of my back. After hearing this conversation I will call my current dermatologist and ask her about treatments! My vitiligo isn’t somewhere that people see so I am not worried about it being pleasing to the eye but if it is a health concern I’d like to work on it!! thanks for this episode!! peggy in texas
