Its always been a pleasure watching Neeya Naana and thanks to you for conducting the program unbiased. I appreciate the efforts of this show for trying to bring the much needed awareness about social issues in the society. I am a fan of this show which is why I feel I should point out one detail which affected me personally from the Dec 8th 2013 episode (Women and Caste). It is about a statement by you at the end of the episode which was inappropriate. After presenting the last award to the girl, you asked "Appaka? Mapillai ka?". I agree that it was said on a jovial note and I appreciate the response by the girl saying "Its for me". But as a host of specially this show, it was really unexpected out of you. Neeya naana itself has aired so many shows which spreads a message to see women as individual human being rather than be treated as a dependent gender. I think this change has to come with in every person, including the host of the show. I feel it was inappropriate to even ask the girl who the gift voucher is for even for fun. Why is it so difficult to see that the girl earned it and she is going to use it and why does it have to be given away to any male member (someone who society perceives as a person she was/is/has to/may depend on) ? If it was about asking if she was going to share it with family, why not her mother, sister and brother or just say family? I really hope such mistakes don't happen in future as this show has much higher social responsibility than just being a talk show.

I have spent 1hr 30 minutes watching this episode. From my understanding what I can say is that everyone is expressing their views from their circle, I would say from their comfort zone. There is no right or wrong answer. If one look it from Tamil Nadu then this is the circle. However let me tell one thing. If you come out of Tamil Nadu, then it will be India and if you go further it would be Asia and so forth. And if you go more concentrated view it will end up in the way the ladies are projecting their views. Each person has their own reason for it and you can't come to a general conclusion and no one can run away from it. It is there in every corner of the world including every religion. What I would say is that caste is your identity and you should keep it your bedroom. Do not portray it in public place and if you know how to manage it, then there is no issue at all.

Jathi oru viathi, caste system is a disease. It is created to create a loophole in humanity, does not matter which jathi , all also still same red color blood ...Lol. In this show all I saw was clasing ego's , thumbs up to the young girl and her determination to stick to her principles marrying inter caste. Otherwise the panelist should have talked about some cases on how lower caste women are affected. I'm from Malaysia and when I visited a village in Chidambaram, elderly people there asked my dad what caste are we and when we kept quite they asked origins of our ancestors...hahaha. We just smiled as my parents are inter community , what more caste?

I totally agree with the side which says caste is not a matter, because it only separates people and encourage the people to be more conservative,only within their caste and ppl...y can't they get out of that circle and be mingled with all other castes and share their customes and cultures???according to me..caste is nothing...and there are more good things to see abt ppl in this world...becoz caste is a messing thing which ruins many ppl lives...so i think this show is important but it would have been much better if current generation participated and shared their reviews abt this topic...
