'Viking' is the export version of modern 'Buk'. And nope, Buk requires the radar and command vehicle. You probably confused it with 'Tor'.

No, Buk doesn't "require" a separate radar. A battery of them has it for all-round scanning, but each launcher is fitted with its own radar which is right in the middle of the screen on preview, it can find, track and destroy targets autonomously.

If your air defense is so effective, one might wonder why Iran hasn't managed to shoot down a single IDF fighter jet ? Similarly, in the ongoing war with Ukraine, if your systems are as capable as claimed, why aren't the areas under Russian control dominating the airspace? One would assume that as Russian troops secure an area, deploying these systems would be a priority to ensure aerial threats are neutralized. Russia will need to demonstrate these systems' effectiveness in combat to convince potential buyers they are not merely squandering billions of dollars.
