Having tried to build something similar before, I know how difficult the objects and mechanics in game make this. All of your Viking builds so far have been true masterpieces, especially with regards to how much you have to improvise to achieve the look and feel. I love this series!

I enjoy building these houses very much. But yes... the whole thing with the missing objects etc. it's a bit annoying. I so hope we get a medieval pack or so.

Ahh thank you Fry! I've lately found difficult to find interesting sims content and I was feverishly scrolling through my followed KZbinrs list when this finally popped up and saved my morning coffee moment! :D sincerely, thank you for providing fresh and different content! (It's been family home mayhem lately and probably it'll get only worse soon :D) about the history part, that's not a "Vikings only" thing to have their animals sleep inside, medieval age English did that too and probably many others. It's especially handy if you have a 2 storey building and the sleeping quarters are upstairs, then the heat from the animals on ground level will rise up and make it warmer for humans to sleep too. People would commonly do this so that they can keep their animals safe from predators/thieves and share the heat.

Oh yes, keeping animals protected not just form the weather but thieves and predators is something I didn't even think of. So smart. I'm happy you like the build. However there will be of course some family houses in the future. Well 2 I did for Early Acess. But then again soon I'ma go into community lots and other stuff. We'll see. I'm always happy for suggestions.

Apparently they had the animals in the houses for heating and company which is honestly brilliant when you think about it..! And they'll stay safe during the winter, win all around for everyone involved!

I agree. It’s a great idea! Also kind of cute in sims gameplay. Having your animal inside right by you to cuddle up during a snowstorm is a good idea. I should set the season to winter and see what happens.

For the next build, maybe a stabbur (search for Viking stabbur and you'll find a few, quite a few we're made into makeshift houses as well, probably so someone woke up if anyone tried stealing from it), a food storage, and a marketplace around it? So maybe you can make a small blacksmith on the lot but it's not the focus..! So if you can cleverly place the (gross) meat walls around, as it's dark they can look like part of the wall, some dried plants and stuff, etc. If you want.

Nooo. Not really lol. I play to test my builds or to set up some gameplay idea I have but then in the end I don't play the game. It was the same as a kid when playing barbies. I would dress them all up for a stories. Decorate the whole playare to be different houses for them and then I was so exhausted that I never played the storyline I had in mind and just packed it all away. It is the exact same in The Sims. But now at least I can share my ideas and builds with others in the hopes that some people will play in it.
