I think this is a genius move. It's so obvious someone would sing their own song, that's why no one guessed it

Apparently none of the producers were willing to let Morten do it, so he had to fight tooth and nail with them in order to let him sing his own song.

This is such a moving version of this song.....the first version was "I'm young and vibrant and we can live a life together!" this is "I may be old, and we may be in the twilight, but ...you won't regret giving your remaining years to me".... I love it.

As a lifelong fan of A-ha I had no idea this was Morten (shame on me!) until I heard it a second time with no picture on tv when I first turned it on, but sound was there. I was in a different room and thought “I wonder what show Morten is on”. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was a repeat of masked singer and it took me that long to guess who it was!!! I will never forget 1986 being on the back row at Harrogate conference centre, UK, as I got last 3 seats with my sister and her friend. I clearly remember my mum pressing redial so many times on phone when she bought tickets for us (I was 13) and us all saying we were not going to school until we knew if we had got seats! That was my first concert without parents! Just amazing even if we right at the back (smallish place- anyone remember 1982 Eurovision? Well that was at this venue!! Not the insanely sized stadiums it is held now). Amazing group, fabulous voice and a concert always cherished 36 years😬later!

I realized it was him as soon as he performed this song. However I cheated. I had just recently listened to an older youtube video of him performing this same version at the 2017 MTV Unplugged concert. He sang a much slowed down version exactly like this. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous so I recognized it as soon as he started singing it because it was the same.

I love this version. I remember when the original hit all the music video channels back in the 80s. I loved the song and the creative way the video was put together. This version has a raw, stripped down feel to it that grabs you by the feels and gets tighter as the song progresses. Well done, Morten. Well done indeed.
