The fact that this song was first sung by a random chubby bearded ginger British chap as part of a bit he had in a Minecraft Let's Play series is hilarious. I was just a kid when I first watched that, and then years later Windrose came out with this BANGER. It hit me right in the childhood.

windrose's lyrics is more typical fantasy power metal lyrics but heavily based on tolkiens hobbit and lotr series, this song is one of their few outliers being a cover of a yogscast song that came from a minecraft clip, the costumes they wear in this video is the same outfits they perform in live to my knowledge
@_blood_moon_proto_1500 Жыл бұрын
5:06 not sure if anyone has said so, but this is purely a minecraft so, no, thats not a joke either, it stems from a joke from a minecraft smp survival series by at this point the heavily mentioned yogscast, specifically simon who at the time used a dwarf skin and i think still uses that very same skin to this day, this whole song is my childhood and good times crammed into one

I can't think of a better description for this kind of music other than "Heavy Mithril". And the world needs *more of it.* Raise a glass for good tunes! 🍺 Also, I love the "Yes!" when it kicks in for the first time. The guitar busts down the door, surprise, and then the kind of "Yes!" that just says "I am here for everything about this". This is now on my playlist when im playing a survival game with digging mechanics.

All the boys from Windrose are from Italy and thier style is based on LOTR. This song Diggy Diggy Hole was a song originally sung by The Yogscast and inspired by the famous videogame Minecraft. I love these Dwarves of Metal...they are jut epic.

An interesting thing about the song. The evolution of it makes it start to sound like something a work crew would sing to keep time and entertained. Those kinds of songs, despite being simple are some serious ear worms.
@jackfrost684228 күн бұрын
I think the word you're looking for is a shanty
@Juan-Dering28 күн бұрын
@jackfrost6842 Not necessarily, Shanty often associated with seafarers. Work songs are just that, sung by prison laborers for example. Or the old slave songs from pre-civil war America called field songs. They all aren't just shanties.
@jackfrost684228 күн бұрын
@Juan-Dering yeah you're right. What is a better word for "work song" tho?
@Juan-Dering28 күн бұрын
@@jackfrost6842 There isn't one exactly. A work song is a work song. Shanties are a type of one. But the ones I'm specifically referring to were just called Work Songs, they never were specifically defined beyond what they were made for. They are more focused on an actual type of work, often used to keep rhythm for the particular work being done. In this case, digging. Thus it would be called a Digging Work Song; and no. You wouldn't call a Digging Work Song a Shanty. Because a Shanty is it's own separate thing very much a defined term. Sung by sailors.

Something I've always wondered is what music was like for the vikings during the Norse eras.
