Hey Andy, I have seen a few people in other Vikings podcasts comment section calling Sam Darnold America's Quarterback. And I had to let them know that they gotten it from you, because I've never heard anyone else referred to Sam Darnold as America's quarterback but you Andy. That's why you're the best. Purple FTW for life keep up the great work and sorry for the essay long comment. Skol

My Question is why didn't the Vikings retire Randy's jersey? Nobody should've accepted that number after he left, just out of respect to the GOAT!

THANK YOU!!!!! That Jefferson sideline catch made me gasp and of course Aikman and Buck don't even call how great of a play that was. Jetts straight up teleported out of his route to catch that!

I don't understand how the punter got freight trained and there was no roughing the kicker penalty. I guess the rules have changed to allow full body tackling?

This Vikings team is the most understated, unheralded, and dare I say it somewhat average team I have watched in all 50+ years of watching them. They get zero respect from announcers, media outlets, writers yet they still find ways to win. In 1985 three teams had 9 or more wins in the same division. They called it the black and blue division because they beat the tar out of teams. 40 plus years later it happens again...crickets...no monikers..just silence. When and if WE hoist the Lombardi trophy will it shock the world because the Vikes are not on the radar? 7 more consecutive Viking wins and that Lombardi trophy is OURS!

If I'm not mistaken, the $65 million dead cap figure the falcons have next year for Kirk is near the amount of cap space the 12-2 Vikings will have while having clenched a playoff spot this year on Sunday night before they even played this week. Skol!

Hey Andy, I’m not a member but I watch your videos all everyday. I just wanted to say that Trent Sherfield did get a finger on it in the replay. I just didn’t think anyone saw it but you can see the ball clip his hand.

Many thoughts from an all-in fan, excited to get hurt again: first of all, phenomenal show. Started tuning in during the draft, and have loved hearing your take on all things Vikes ever since... Starting from the top: KAM: Huge fan of his. Love the data analytics background, and easily had the best free agent signing class this year. My take is we really haven't seen what he can do. There was an article earlier this year talking about him trying to get out from all the dead cap we had on our books and how hard it was for him to find the way to do that. To me that means that was objective number 1 passed down by the Wilfs, while also staying competitive which IMO both now and back then is an impossible task. But he did it. Now that is in the rearview mirror and we'll get to see what he can do with full focus on the roster and a full cap to kick things down the road if needed. He's been getting better in his drafts too and in the meantime his cap management and FA signings have more than made up for what we're missing from there. KOC: first to start with some hyperbole here, but when compared to friggin Zim I don't think it's too far off. He's the Vikings version of Ted Lasso. Ignore not having all the perfectly timed phrases and notice he is always BUILDING people up. Give me that all day. KOC's post game speeches have become weekly must watches. Second, while obvious, he's the most valuable asset in the organization. He won with the Passtronaut, he unlocks more of Darnold's potential each week it seems, and he made Kirk from good to really good. Having the ability to develop talent like that means we're getting the best backup QB's every year, but more importantly gives us SO MUCH more margin for error with our starting QB. If and possibly when we have to move to McCarthy, it is so much less of a crapshoot knowing he's been studying at the KOC school for Quarterbacks Who Want to Play Good. and he's 39!!! Could go on forever but long story longer, got my snapback and hoodie on the way because of the guy. Flores: I know nothing about defenses. I've watched too many videos breaking down his defense. I've read Luke Braun's very in depth (and awesome) breakdown of his defense. Still don't understand it, not even going to pretend to. But, NFL QB's and OC's don't seem to understand it either. If Andy Reid is the highest paid coach at $20MM/year, give him $21MM to stick around, be DC, and tell KAM to take it out of the player budget (joking). I'm assuming he leaves for an HC job just to keep my hopes low but maybe 31 owners are really colluding to keep him out. Not rooting for it though, want the best for the guy. Darnold: TBH, I've been a hardcore "we're moving on to JJ" guy and still lean that way. Ignoring that for now, this guy is absolute nails when we need it. Needed a drive in the 9ers game, got it. Needed one to finish the losers in Wisc, got it. Jets, got it. Lions, didn't get it but if I remember right, we hold on to a pass, we win that game. Colts, got it. Titans, got it. Bears OT, got it. Cardinals, got it. He's like Kirk Cousins in big situations, except the opposite. I couldn't care less that he didn't light it up against the Bears tonight or the Jags earlier. No QB goes through the year and has 17 great games. 11 games with a QBR over a 100 is just dandy. Second, I don't get the confusion over what's happening with him after this year. We franchise him. We get another year to make sure this wasn't a fluke. If it was or he gets hurt, we give JJ a shot to see if he can replace him. Can't make the wrong choice if we still have them both. If Darnold is the Darnold he was drafted to be, we keep him and pay him whatever he wants. Very few QB's can say they have a ceiling as high as Darnold. If he falls off, well lookie who we have waiting in the wings... We're getting these last 3 games. Then, hopefully all the prayer warriors in Minnesota mixed with Moss being Moss, can get 84 to the Gjallarhorn for the NFC Championship. Give me the Vikings -41.5 (f you 2001 Giants) against anyone if that happens.

Rookie QB are always tasked with lifting the whole team. The expectations are always high and impossible. So sad to see him play now and you could just see the spiral from start to finish this season. He needs to sit behind an experienced QB, and probably sit for the rest of the season and just watch and learn.

In all honesty Minnesota played sloppy. Yet, I really did like how they ran the ball. When they went to the run game the offense controlled the clock and scored. When they kept forcing the ball to Jefferson it never ended well.

KOC still making poor choices at times on play calling--puts the team in disadvantaged situations and throws away drives eg going for 7 instead of taking 3. Also not enough taking short passes to move the chains vs trying long strikes...

Two points: 1. Excellent list Andy! I especially liked your comments re JJ coming back for the ball...I literally cheered as much when I saw that as when JJ got the TD! They were great plays that most football fans do not spot. IMHO, mot only is JJ the most talented receiver in the NFL, but he is also the most mature, classiest, hard-working, and football-savvy WR in the game. 2. However....lol....I will disagree regarding the "Ref was the main character" comment. From what I saw, ALL the penalties were REAL penalties, and virtually all were clearly consequential to the play. If the officiating crew were just calling all sorts of random borderline infractions, then I would agree...however, that was not the case. IMHO the officials actually called a pretty good game, and they were especially noteworthy in not being guilty of the worst f-ups we've seen quite often this year, e.g. brutal non-calls of obvious infractions, impossible-to-explain replay booth decisions, and embarrassing failures to know the rules. Yes, they did miss a face-masking penalty & there were a ton of penalties....but the truth is that those penalties were on *the players* , not the officials. The officials were just doing their job (relatively well for a change!)
