@puppethound16 күн бұрын
You don't know our pain. Your team hasn't won in forever, that is much different than year after year, the Vikings field a competitive club "on paper" and still lose. Now if Detroit gets upset in these playoffs, THEN you might have a inkling of what it's like to be Viking fan. Losing when it matters is just the tip. Knowing your team sucks like Detroit has in the past, you never expect to win and it's business as usual. The Vikings, for the most part, are typically regarded as a good team, a playoff team caliber team and sometimes even a SB favorite, only to let their fan base down in dramatic fashion EVERY DAMN YEAR. I hope the Lions win, because having hope, only to watch it get dashed because your team doesn't show up. Lion's fans have never experienced that and take it from Skol nation, you don't want it bro. Absolutely could have and should have gone our way if Sam is locked in like he has been. He was high on nearly EVERY throw. Not sure if he was just too amped up or what. Part of it was definitely the pressure, Detroit D played well. If Sam does what he's been doing all year though, Vikings are up 21-7 early and that's an entirely different game. Great gameplan by Detroit, they brought it all 4 quarters. Now the original reason for replying to this comment. Thanks Detroit fans for being classy like always. @Cujobob The problem with Flores all season has been he gasses out the players. You can't survive 4 quarters when you blitz more than 40% of the time. The Vikings had a great defensive scheme and held the best offense in the league to 31 points. Darnold simply failed to respond to the pressure and tended to overthrow the open man on several occasions. They were extremely lucky this was exposed in the regular season. I do think the Lions are ahead of the curve a bit overall, if not on consistency than on facing down a greater variety of challenges. I won't talk shit though. The score wasn't great for the Vikes at the end but that game had so many 'cusp' moments which would have been nightmares if things had shaken out just a bit differently. I saw many Vikings fans so down last night. They should not be. The Vikings finished 14-3, tied for second best in the NFL. That's a great season and it's not over yet. Congrats to the Vikings for a great regular season, they are worthy and should be proud of the results. But.... how 'bout them Lions!? 15-2 a franchise best.

The defense did their job. They looked at the tape and seen that we ran long routes 20 and 15 yard routes. They said we hold the ball too long and they put pressure on Sam Hill receivers wasn’t even turning around until they were 15 or 20 yards down the field, we need to adjust and we didn’t

The Lions really did maximize how much you can get away with on pass coverage. It's like a specialty in the NFL right now, how close can you get to a flag. They are the pros at it right now.
@okstate99916 күн бұрын
Yep, you used to see that a lot more, man coverage bottling up receivers and getting ultra physical, but rules have evolved. Somehow the Lions have found a way to get away with it.

Where were the refs on the delay of game..... Minnesota got away with 3 or 4 there. Great game despite the refs.
@Tingles00416 күн бұрын
@@grampafpv Lions got away with a few as well. The intentional grounding, The branch Helmet hit and the Anzalone PI on Hockenson. I think that was the refs way of making up those missed Delay of Game penalties.

So this is the only game you've watched since week 8? They've been playing a ton of zone bc they lost their pass rush and the DBs have been dropping like flies
@anthonyhomesly95016 күн бұрын
@@Tingles004they were definitely giving penalties back when they called bs or missed a call. If they missed one on one team they'd give an iffy one to the other team next drive.

It was inevitable that Darnold would have a bad game sooner or later (especially on a 9-game winning streak). I suppose it's better that it happened before the playoffs, but losing the home field advantage is also a significant setback at this point.

Ok people two great teams came together to play football last night. Lions over played the Vikings and won last night. It could have been Vikings over played but it wasn’t. Losing is part of the game. We don’t need to tear down another team in our conference. It’s ok to lose and be humble or win and be humble. Wish both teams the very best for rest of season.

Lion fan here. Viking fans' responses to this game remind me of Lions fans after the Bill and Bucs games. Every team is going to lose some games. It is sometimes better to get the loss behind you and out of the way. The key is for the team to bounce back. Kinda sucks you gotta go to LA. On the bright side, if the team was eager to get Viking fans to Detroit, your fans can go to LA where the teams are not nearly as well supported by the local fan base. For our game there last year (Chargers), there were a ton of Lion fans there. As a bonus, ticket prices will be much lower than here in Detroit.

Teams have not fared well the next week after playing Detroit. The physicality seems to wear teams out 7 days later.

The problem is easy to solve. Just get receivers that are 5 feet taller so Darnold can hit them.

Vikings fan here and wow do them lions look great Goff picked apart or zone blitz scheme with a lot of slants and middle crossing routes think we need to look into what he’s doing and put Sam on track for that cause I know he has the skill! Can’t be leaving an open zone soft spot In the middle of the field allowing the lions receivers to get wide open across the middle we stop that we stop them till then Goff will eat

The fact that Darnold couldn’t get a pass into JJs hands in what 7, 10+ tries inside the 10 says a lot. Just how many downs would it take? Four wasn’t enough. There had to be a play. All I can remember is over throw on top of over throw. Hope Darnold can put this one in the past.
@guitarsrcool492216 күн бұрын
The next time Darnold plays like that we go home. He kept missing throws he usually makes. Holding the ball to long making the o-line look bad. When you're on the road, early in the game you take the field goal. Vikings twice didn't do that. Refs missed a safety in the first half. Jefferson droped at least 3 balls. Never seem him do that. Van Ginkle dropped a pick 6. The football Gods were definitely against us. Lol. Lots of mental errors, even by the Coaches. That last Packers game and the week before at Seattle were like playoff games.

As a vikings fan, why are lions gans acting like they were the underdogs or not the favorite to win at home? I didnt expect to win but with how the team has played I just wanted to see the team show up and see how they would fare in a probable playoff atmosphere. Sucks the defense played well in the first half and they couldnt do anything with it
@visions725616 күн бұрын
Lions played amazing in the 2nd half. Vikings didn’t have their best game offensively, but the Lions had a really slow start in the first half too. Lions just proved they had the grit to pull through when they need to. Better team overall imo if our defense has a few our our key members playing
@Watchingtheparadegoby15 күн бұрын
I got to say Minnesota played one hell of a 1st half. They were not giving Detroit any free passes. I was extremely concerned that the Lions would end up short at halftime. But the Lion's defense played arguably their best game all season given the caliber of the competition. This was a dog fight and fortunately the Lions got some really good breaks in the 3rd quarter and this is the only reason the game was lopsided. Respect to Minnesota!
