I was a Rickshaw puller in the race scene on knockoff and remember being in make up sat next to Todd and I had no idea it was Todd I thought it was van damme 😂 with the makeup and clothing they looked so alike😂

I really appreciate Universal Soldier 2 , Thanks to this movie I discoverd Michael Jai White. Since I'm a big fan. The fight scenes with JCVD and Michael Jai White, in my humble opinion, are awsome.

“Legionnaire” is my favorite non martial arts Jcvd movie. It’s a real film. Reminds me a bit of Mel Gibson’s “Gallipoli”.

Galipoli, not so sure. "March or die" though, felt very familiar.

As kid I liked legionnaire but would admit that was disappointing there was no martial arts really. Now that I’m older I know that’s kinda shallow thinking and Van damme was showcasing his acting. I still liked the movie though.

A good friend of mine has been involved in Karate as a fighter and instructor for over 60 years, hes done film work and trained actors before and has bumped into Van Damme a couple of times at movie shoots he was working on. He wasn't very complimentary about him at at all.

A good friend of mine works in the apartment building where Van Damme lives in Hong Kong. He bumps into him all the time and says he's one of the nicest guys in the building.
@Serij123452 ай бұрын
Van Damme has always been steroid free so he had to be fasting (with no sugar and tasty food) all the time on the set of his movies from 80s to mid 2000s to stay in shape and keep his 6 packs. It used to make him angry and expressive. So for him making an action film was always an extremely demanding job both physically and mentally according to his close friend and manager Michel Qissi. So don't blame VD much
@looneytune69552 ай бұрын
@@Serij12345 I can only comment on what my friend said as i have personally never met JCVD. It would take a lot for my friend to not get on with someone, he's the nicest guy i've ever met. If i remember there was something he was telling me about a title JVCD had claimed to have won but claimed it was false but i can't recall the full details as it was a few years ago. It was in an interview done with a martial arts mag.

He’s great in fight scenes but his acting is very wooden
@Summon2562 ай бұрын
@@WarriorEsoteric And? So is Van Damme's! It's not like one was this Al Pacino level juggernaut and the other just some amateur who was being provided wth the script and asked to improvise on the fly without any prior knowledge or experience with the task he's being provided with! No...acting skills wise they are nearly on the same level and their respective careers path got nothing to do with their acting skills...Van Damme just hit golden buzzer once while Michael missed it...the right place - the right time!
